The car ride to my house was silent. Jesy didn't say a word. She just sat there, smiling like an idiot. And I knew exactly why she was smiling. Seeing her smile only made me smile. When we turned onto my street, I finally broke the silence.

"Hey, you wanna sleep over tonight?" I asked.

"Yea, sure," she answered, still smiling.

We pulled into my driveway and got out of the car. We were met at the door by my parents.

"What is the meaning of this?!" Mom screamed.

"What, mom?"

"Oh, I don't know. Why don't you tell me?"

She handed me a newspaper. Jesy had made the front page, but not for a good reason. It showed the five kids that got arrested from the party a couple days ago. I just stated at it, speechless.

"I thought you guys were in your room, Sara," mom said angrily. "I am very disappointed in you. You disobeyed your father and I."

"Mom, can we take this inside?" I asked.

"Why? Oh, wait, that's right. You don't want your new best friend, Luke, to see you getting in trouble, now do you. Well look, there he is now. Guess he's going to see it."

I looked over and saw Luke's car pull into his driveway. He quickly glanced over but kept walking to his house.

"You're grounded," Mom said.

"What?" I asked, turning back to her.

"You heard me," was all she said before she turned back into the house. "And Jesy, might as well forget about coming over anytime soon. Sara's going to be locked in her room for a few days."

"Mom you can't do this to me!" I yelled, walking into the house.

"Well then I guess it's too bad I just did."

I turned to Jesy who was still at the door. She came over and hugged me tight.

"It's okay," she whispered in my ear. "We'll figure something out. I saw Michael walk into Luke's house so I have an excuse to go over there. We will figure something out." And then she left.

I walked up to my room and shut the door. I heard my mom lock the door from the outside, so I locked it from the inside as well. My phone buzzed in my pocket so I took it out and looked at it.

Luke: Everything okay?

Me: If being grounded and stuck in my room for a day is okay, then yes.

Luke: What? No! That means I can't see you!

Me: Luke, it's not like she disabled my window from opening.

Luke: So you're saying..........

Me: Come in through the window. As long as we don't get caught, we're good.

Luke: I like this new 'bad girl' craze your getting into ;)

Me: Well I'm glad you like it cuz if my parents keep acting like this then I'm gonna act more like a bad girl

Luke: Yes! When do you want me to come over?

Me: Tonight

Luke: Okay! See you then
