"I don't understand what the problem is between you two but you guys need to stop," the principal said once we were in the office.

"She started it. She may seem all innocent and everything but she's really a devil inside," Maggy said.

"Oh please," was all I got to say before the principal motioned for us to stop.

"Maggy, be quiet. Now I want to hear the story of what happened. Sara, you go first."

"Do you want just what happened today?"

"Yes."

"Okay. So I was just sitting at the table with a bunch of my friends." Maggy scoffed and I glared at her. "Anyways, Ashton came over and told us Maggy was spreading rumors."

"What kind of rumors was she spreading?"

"Inappropriate rumors about me."

"You can tell me what they were. I don't mind if you have to swear."

I paused for a second. I've never felt okay with swearing in front of adults before. Except for Liz. But I see her as a friend now.

"Are you sure it's okay I use swear words?" I asked.

"If they have to help you tell the story, then yes."

"Okay. So the rumors she was spreading was that I became a slut over the summer and slept with Luke, Calum, Michael, Ashton, and Strike and the other one I heard was that me and Luke became fuck buddies. Neither of those were true."

"But you and Luke have started dating, right?"

"Yes that is correct."

"So what happened next?"

"So then I buried my head in my hands and Luke tried to comfort me. The Maggy said something like 'no fucking in school please' and Strike started to stick up for me. He was saying that the rumors weren't true and everything. Then Maggy said something about how if I won't be Luke's fuck buddy then she will be so that's when I got up and sort of joined the argument. I'll admit that I did say offensive things to her that I didn't really think about before saying but I didn't hit her back after she hit me. So I take blame for the things I said but I didn't take any action."

"Thank you, Sara. Maggy, what's your side of the story?"

"First off, I didn't spread any rumors about her. That part she's making up. There are no rumors going around about her. Second, I was just quietly sitting at my table with my friends when she came over and started yelling at me. Strike came and helped her. I thought she was going to hit me."

"I saw you hit her so don't try to deny that."

"I won't. But I only hit her because she hit me first."

"Wow. Okay. Your stories are pretty different. I'm going to grab a few more students who witnessed it and see what there stories are," the principal said. "Please wait outside."

The two of us got up and sat in chairs on opposite sides of the waiting room. The principal walked out of the office and went to grab some witnesses. He came back with Luke, Strike, Jesy, Ashton, Sabrina, Hillary, and Jessica. Our principal took Strike in first while the others sat in the waiting room with us.

"So what's the deal?" Jesy asked me.

"I told the truth and Maggy told some fucked up story," I replied.

"Doesn't surprise me."

"Hey Sara. It's going to be okay. The four of us know exactly what happened and we will tell the truth. I promise," Luke reassured me.

"Yea and I know you guys will. I'm just worried about them and what they are planning on talking about over there. You know they are all going to say the same thing now."

"Yea. That was kind of dumb on our principal's part." We chuckled.

"Sabrina?" our principal said walking out of his office. Strike followed him out.

"I told as much of the truth as I could remember," Strike said to me.

"It's okay Strike. Thanks for all your help."

"No problem. You're actually a really cool girl."

"You thought I wasn't?"

"I didn't know. I just know I really hated your mom. I still do actually. No offense though."

"No it's alright. I hate her right now too. And this is definitely not going to help her see that she's being too harsh."

"Yea. I'm sorry all this shit had to happen to you."

"It's not your fault. It's Maggy's."

"She's had a crush on me for the longest time," Luke intruded. "I've just never taken a liking to her."

"Why?" I asked him.

"I just haven't. And then when I finally started seeing you around school I totally just ignored Maggy."

"Awe Lukey." I kissed his cheek.

"She just hasn't given up and apparently she will do anything to try and get rid of anybody who gets in her way of me. But that just makes me hate her even more."

"She just doesn't get it."

"Exactly."

"Luke?" the principal said.

We talked more and more about anything while each person got called in. Finally, our principal called Maggy and me back in.

"So I've got some good news and bad news. Sabrina, Hillary, an Jessica's story matched with Maggy's. Strike, Luke, Ashton, and Jesy's matched with Sara's. I still have no idea who's is true. I'm going to have to get some more witnesses. Can you guys please wait outside again?"

"Of course," I replied.

"Whatever," Maggy said.

We both sat in the waiting room once again. Our principal walked out and came back with Michael, Calum, Lindsay, and Olivia. This time, he made them all sit in a separate room so we couldn't talk to them. He somewhat quickly got them in and out and we were called back in.

"Good luck," Calum said as I passed by him.

"Thanks. I'm going to need all the luck I can get," I replied.

"Hey, everything's going to be alright. I promise."

"I hope so."

We walked back into the office and sat down.

"Lindsay and Olivia's stories did not match each others or either of yours. Calum and Michael's matched Sara's. So Maggy, you have three weeks detention. Sara, I'm letting you off on a warning. No more use of foul language like that towards someone in my school."

"I'm sorry sir. Thank you. I won't do it again," I replied.

"Alright. Sara, you can go. Maggy, I want you to stay here so I can talk to you."

"This is bullshit!" I heard Maggy say as I walked out of the office.

I got a pass and headed to my next class.
