I woke up to someone shaking me. When my eyes opened, I saw it was my dad. I rubbed my eyes and sat up. It was still dark outside.

"What time is it?" I asked.

"12:30 am," my dad answered.

"Then why are you waking me up?"

"It's about your mother. We need to get to the hospital."

I tried to get up and out of the bed without waking anybody. Luke figgited before he slowly started to wake up.

"What's wrong?" his sleepy voice asked.

"My dad said that there is something wrong with my mom and we need to go to the hospital. You can stay here and slep if you want."

"No. I'll come with you. Should we wake Ashton?"

"I don't know."

We dropped the idea of waking Ash and started to get ready to leave. We kept the lights off, which was a bad idea. I stepped on a hand and heard a screech.

"Sorry Ashton!" I said.

"No it's fine. What are you doing anyways?"

"My dad woke me up and said there was something wrong with my mom and that we needed to get to the hospital. Luke is coming but you can stay here if you want."

"No I'll come."

"Awe you woke Ashton?" Luke said, walking into the room.

"She accidentaly stepped on me so yea, I kind of woke up," Ashton replied.

"Let's go!" my dad yelled from downstairs.

"We have to wait for Ashton now!" I yelled back.

"Hurry!"

"Don't worry. I won't be long," Ashton said.

Luke and I walked down the stairs to wait with my dad. We didn't have to wait very long before Ashton came down the stairs, two at a time.

"Ready?" my dad asked.

"Ready," we all answered.

Dad grabbed the set of keys near the door and walked out. We all followed him out. We got into the car and the entire car ride was silent. We didn't even have the energy to turn on the radio. We finally arrived at the hospital and parked. Dad ran inside and we followed some what quickly.

We walked to the room where my mom was staying. There were nurses and doctors running in and out, one after another.

"Oh no," I said.

I ran into the room and up to the side of my mom's bed. She was awake, but she looked like she was in a lot of pain. I looked at my dad's face and saw tears in his eyes. Luke and Ashton stood at the door.

"She's barely hanging on," Dad whispered.

"W-what?"

"Sara?" Mom asked.

"Mom, I'm right here." I grabbed her hand in mine with tears forming in my eyes.

She was breathing heavily. "I-I want you to know th-that......."

"What mom?"

"I l-love you. I-I may s-seem like a c-comp-plete bitch somet-times, b-but I-I only w-want what's best f-for you. I d-don't want you to g-get hurt, l-like I d-did. L-Luke seems t-to be a g-good thing f-for you right n-now. I-I'm sorry I d-didn't see i-it earlier. I-I give y-you guys m-my blessi........."

The machine went dead. One long beep was all we heard.

"No!" I yelled.

I dropped her hand and slowly backed away. My dad broke down crying on the floor near the bed. I felt hot tears lining my cheeks. My hands started shaking uncontrollably. This can not be happening.

"No no no no no no no no no!!"

I turned and ran for the door. Someone caught my arm when I reached the hallway and pulled me close. I cried into their chest. An all to familiar smell filled my nostrils.

"Just let it out, Sara," Luke said.

He rubbed his hands in circles on my back. He placed a short kiss on my forehead.

"I j-just wish i-it went d-differently," I said.

"Don't think about that. She's moved onto a better place now. It was just her time."

I cried into Luke's shoulder for a little wile longer before I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up and saw Ashton had come out into the hallway with us. I pulled the both of them into a group hug and just cried. I didn't know what else to do or say but cry. I didn't want to go back into that room, but I knew I had to.

"Dad?"

He looked up at me from the floor, tears staining his face. He stood up and pulled me into a massive hug. We both cried into each other's shoudlers.

Why me? Why does this have to happen to me?
