The sky was bright blue. Bird were flying high up in the sky. The sun was shining through my window. The trees were starting to change colors: from green to orange, yellow, and red. It seemed like a beautiful day in nature as I sat on the window sill in my room.

But it wasn't a beautiful day. It wasn't a happy day. It was a nightmare come true.

I wanted to be alone. I wanted to grieve all by myself in my room. I didn't want to see or talk to anyone today.

But, my stubborn boyfriend is currently sitting on my bed.

I looked over at him. His blue eyes were the light of my life. I loved the way he made his amazing blonde hair stand up on his head. When he smiled, it was contagious. His adorable dimples on either side of his face. Just the warmness of the way his lips curled up. Everything about him was perfect to me.

He felt my eyes on him and he looked up. He tried to smile at me, but I looked away before I could catch it. He sighed and looked down at his phone again.

"You know, you're going to have to talk to me soon," he said.

I didn't turn to look at him. I continued to stare out the window at the beautiful nature outside. The birds moved along in there happy ways. The flowers perked up with the bright colors they wore. The sun shine high, no sign of any sadness. My sadness was the only sadness in the nature.

I heard Luke get up from my bed. I didn't turn to see where he was going. But I soon felt arms wrap around me and a chin rest on my shoulder. I sighed and didn't move.

"I hate seeing you like this," Luke said. "I know why you're doing this and I would be too. But I just hate seeing you like this."

I stared out the window. I just didn't know what to say. Finally, I lifted my hand up and placed it on his hand. I could feel a smile creep on his lips.

"Come on. I want to take you somewhere to try and get your mind off of this," Luke said.

I shook my head. He grabbed my hand and pulled me away, leaving me with no choice but to go with him. He dragged me all the way out to his car and put me in the passenger seat. I buckled up and stared out the window as Luke drove to who knows where.

The trees zoomed by as we approached a road I wasn't familiar with. It was a dirt road and it was very bumpy. The car slowed to a stop as we reached an open field. Luke got out and walked over to my side of the car. He opened the door and extended his hand for me to take. As I grabbed it, he pulled me out to the middle of the field. He sat down and pulled me onto his lap.

"Why are we here?" I asked.

"To free your mind. Don't think about anything other than being here, in the beautiful, open nature. I come here all the time. You're the first person I've brought here with me. Which means you're the first person that knows about this place."

He laid back in the grass and stared up at the sky. After a while, I laid back and rested my head on his chest. I felt it move up and down with each breath he took. I closed my eyes and just listened to the sound of the nature around me and the sound of Luke breathing.

I must've fallen asleep because when I woke up again, the sun was starting to set.

"I wanted you to look at the setting sun with me," Luke said, helping me sit up next to him.

He pulled me close to him and we both stared into the now setting sun. I rested my head on his shoulder.

After about an hour of staring at the beautiful sun set, we got up and went back to the car. Luke drove me back to my house and offered to let me stay at his house. I took him up on the offer and followed his inside his house to his room.

I laid down on his bed and instantly closed my eyes. I felt him get on the bed with me. We just laid there and cuddled until we both finally fell asleep.
