[Avie's POV]

"T-Thank you," I said, in complete surprise.

Three days passed since Tony came after Melinda's death. My meeting with my therapist was rescheduled to today since during lunch, a patient went into hysterics and accidentally hit me, causing me to hit my head with a table. I got knocked out and woke up with stitches near my right temple. Tony wasn't happy about it, but I was okay and he calmed down.

"Anytime, Avery. Have a good day," my therapist, Farrah, smiled as she picked up the phone, and I left her office.

I just got the best news ever. Due to my good behavior and fast improvement, I'm going home in 3 days. Basically, 3 weeks earlier!!

I was both happy yet surprised. I was told that even though I cried badly when Melinda died, they said it was a normal thing before mourning, which isn't considered a mental illness or anything. If I had developed an even severe case of depression, I would be here much longer.

I walked to my room, where Joselyn was reading.

"Well?" she asked.

"She said I'm leaving in 3 days," I said.

"Avery, that's great!!" Joselyn said, looking happy as we hugged.

"I know, but... you'll be here for a long time. I don't want to leave you behind," I said.

"Nonsense. I'll be fine. You just go back to your Tony and your family. Enjoy life and freedom. Do that, at least for me," she said.

I hesitate at first, but then nod. "Alright."

We pull into each others arms.
