Because my real one is hectic
The person you know is not real
Because the way I look is not how I feel
These are not true memories
They are just a copy of a copy
I am only remembering remembering
There is no label to my grieving
Unidentified tears continue to stream
The reasons only show in my dreams

My birth mother's memory is now
Just a nameless shadow
Her memory has been erased
And it has been replaced
It is not that I do not love her
It is just that I can not remember

All of my life I have been trying
Telling myself to just keep going
Though it is hard, I will keep fighting
It is hard to smile when you feel like dying
People tell me to just keep swimming
I know everything will be okay if I just keep breathing
