Hey Brother (Poem)

Hey Brother,

I can't wait you hear your voice again in a couple of days

When you call me up on my birthday.

There is so much that I want to say

That you cannot see now that you are far away!

Hey Brother,

Did you know that our family is falling apart

As soon our (step) mother is going to depart

Though I know that this is going to be a fresh start

It really still just breaks my heart

Hey Brother,

Did I ever tell you how I knew

That in that court case i knew is wasn't you

That it was your friend that looked a lot like you

And that what he did to our neighbor... he did to me too?

Hey Brother,

Not a day goes by that I hesitate to click send

Because I am afraid I will only disturb you in the end

I'm so afraid to lose not just my brother, but a friend

So I can't wait to hear from you again!

Hey Brother,

I hope I can finally dig up the strength to say

Exactly what happened to me that day

And to tell you how our little brother is moving away

To explain how our troubles are one and the same.

Hey Brother,

I know I'm anxious and I have to force the words out my mouth

I hope I can find a way to dig up some courage to tell you somehow

About how hard it is to be alive right now

And I hope things are better for you now!

Hey Brother,

I still love you with all of my heart

Even if we are hundreds of miles apart.
