---Even walking through the halls of the prestigious academy intimidated her to a point where Lucy felt she didn't belong.
After all, she had been called a failure countless times by her father. At one point, she started to believe him too.
Never again. That was the first—and last—time she'd ever believe in something so...disappointing.
Lucy struggled to navigate her way through the hallways. Didn't I just see this poster? Have I been walking around in circles? She thought anxiously.
"Hey...are you new?" Someone said from behind her.
The blonde slowly turned around to see a petite blue haired girl looking at her curiously.
She nodded. "Yes I am...do you know where I can find the Main Office?"
"Follow me. I'm headed there myself, actually." The blunette smiled and gestured for the blonde to walk with her.
"I'm Levy, by the way." She stuck out her hand in front of her.
"I'm Lucy." The blonde returned the kind smile and graciously took Levy's outstretched hand.
The two girls talked the whole way there, learning more about one another. They entered the office, where Levy guided her to the principal's office. She momentarily went to talk to the principal's assistant about an issue in one of the classrooms, leaving Lucy by herself.
She gulped nervously. Although the principal seemed to be old and frail, Lucy sensed there was something about him that screamed leadership.
The blonde quickly pushed the thought aside as the principal cleared his throat. "You are Lucy Heartfilia, correct?"
She nodded.
"Do you happen to be the daughter of--"
"Yes, I am. If it's not much trouble, I'd like to just remain as Lucy...Heart. I'm not comfortable with people knowing who I am because of my father's past...mistakes," She said quickly.
The old man nodded hesitantly. "Welcome to Fairy Tail of Performing Arts, or FTPA for short. I am Master Makarov."
She smiled. "It's very nice to meet you."
"Here is your schedule Lucy. If you want, I can have Levy escort you around the building so you are familiar with the place."
"I'd appreciate that very much."
Master Makarov grinned. "There's no need for formalities. Here at FTPA, everyone is to be treated like family."
Lucy scoffed a little, unable to look the Master in the eye. "A family, huh?" After all, her view on the topic wasn't very ideal to others.
"This is your home now, Lucy. I promise you everyone here will accept who you are in no time," He said encouragingly.
She forced a smile. "Thank you, Master."
