Loki's POV:

*TOSS* *THUD*

So much had happened today, it was getting harder and harder to process it all. Actually, come to think of it, a lot has happened in the past couple weeks since Y/N arrived. I continued staring up at the ceiling as I threw the small tumbler up into the air, before catching it back with one hand.

*TOSS* *THUD*

One by one the prison lights began flickering off, signalling that it was time to sleep; that it was time for our plan to take action. I didn't bother moving from my lying position on the bed, only waited.

*TOSS*

"Have you changed your mind?" her voice a low whisper as she stood over me, catching the object above me and placing it on the side. I smirked, shaking my head, and began pushing myself back up into a sitting position. She offered me her hand and a small smile back as the purple hue in her eyes began to fade. I wonder if she was aware her eyes changed colour like that when she used magic? Gently taking her hand she pulled me up from my bed, scanning my face as worry tugged at the corner of her lips.

"You need not look so worried, Darling. I'm fine. I'm still coming with you, I gave my word." I lightly touched her cheek, trying my best to give her a convincing smile. Y/N shook her head, placing her hand on mine.

"No you're not fine Loki, you're grieving. It's good to grieve, it just takes time." her words felt as if a layer of weight had been taken off me, that old wounds had the potential to finally heal. She gripped my hand in hers, more tightly now and brought it back down to our side. "Come on, let's get out of here." as she spoke the last words the purple mist descended over us and we disappeared.

"Sssooo... I only got given the semantics for one section of the palace, I'm not really sure where we are anymore." Y/N mumbled, twisting to look at me with an awkward smile, then continued to peer around different corners. I chuckled under my breath and tugged at her hand.

"Come on, we can go this way." I whispered as we weaved through corridors, grand staircases and long hallways. Finally reach an all too familiar door. Reaching a hand out I tugged on the door handle. With a subtle click the door slowly opened; revealing a gold choked bedroom, and bookshelves that stretched up to the very top of the tall ceiling. Y/N dropped my hand as she stepped into the middle of the room, dancing in circles; taking it all in.

"This is beautiful! I've never seen anything like it before and I've broken into a lot of nice places. I'll tell you that much." her face was painted with the widest smile I'd seen since she had arrived, dashing around the room like a kid in a candy store. I could hear her feet pad behind me as I turned to shut the door again, locking it closed. "Have you seen the size of the bath in here. It's massive! I could fit three of me in there." she called out from the bathroom, I couldn't stop myself from chuckling. I wandered across to the double doors on one side of the bedroom, unlocking them and pushing them wide open. The fresh air hitting me. I missed the clean, aromatic breeze of Asgard. Once again I could hear Y/N's footsteps somewhere in the room. Turning to see her slowly approaching me I offered her my hand.

"I think you'll like this part the best, Darling." I smiled as she placed her hand in mine and I walked her out onto the balcony. Her eyes instantly lit up, as her lips parted slightly in a gasp. I watched her expression change and how she breathed in the new air, taking in the entire view laid out before us. Despite the late night sky, it was littered with stars and constellations, with the rainbow bridge projecting some of its colours up and into the sky. Broken fractures of dying stars floated around in the atmosphere, as they slowly became burnt out flakes of silver. The gardens below were lit up by small lanterns, illuminating the different paths you could walk. The town just beyond the palace walls glinted with hope and community. No matter how much I disliked Odin his kingdom was nothing short of breath-takingly perfect.
