Heesoo's POV
I walked into my dorm room and threw my bag onto my desk chair as I stifled a big yawn. Classes were done for the day and I was exhausted. I flopped onto my bed and huffed out a sigh. I need a nap.
Buzz buzz buzz
No. I groaned. I want to sleep.
Buzz buzz buzz.
Leave me alone.
Buzz buzz buzz.
I groaned in frustration and pulled out my phone, checking the caller ID. Leeteuk oppa. I smiled, my annoyance from seconds before completely gone.
"Oppa!" I cheered into the phone.
"Heesooah!" Leetuek's voice chuckled on the other end, "How are you? How was your first day of college?"
"I'm tired," I pouted, causing Leeteuk to laugh even harder.
"What classes did you have today?" Leeteuk asked.
"Composing and math," I answered, trying to hold back a yawn.
"Look at my little sister, composing music," Leeteuk said proudly, "When will you write music for Super Junior?"
"You mean other than No Other?" I reminded him.
"Ah right, you did write that song for us," Leeteuk recalled.
"But yeah, maybe I'll write more," I pondered, "It's just.....hard to be around..Kyu-everyone."
"I know," Leeteuk said quietly, "I know Heesooah. I'm sorry."
"How, how is he?" I asked, regretting the question as soon as it left my lips.
"He's ok," Leeteuk went silent for a moment, "He's...well...he's fine."
"Ok," I stopped there. I knew there was something that Leeteuk wasn't saying but honestly I didn't wanna pry. It still hurt too much to talk about it, even if it did happen almost a year ago. I took a deep breath and spoke again, "How was your day oppa?"
"Good," Leeteuk replied quickly, clearly happy to be talking about something else, "They just gave us a new song that we're working on. It's pretty good, I like it."
"When is your comeback?" I asked.
"In a few months," Leeteuk told me. Before I could answer the door opened and Dohee walked in, sending a wave my way before laying on her bed herself.
"Hey oppa I gotta go," I said, "My roommates here and I wanna talk to her."
"No problem, saranghae," Leeteuk replied.
"Saranghae," I hung up the phone and looked at Dohee, "How was your first day of classes?"
"Good," Dohee nodded, "Now tell me about yourself. You didn't tell me anything at lunch today."
"Oh right," I laughed, "Um, not much to say. I'm a composing major with a writing minor. I'm also in cooking classes because I enjoy that. As you saw Chen oppa is my best friend. Oh, and you know Leeteuk from Super Junior? Yeah that's my older brother."
"No way!" Dohee seemed surprised, "You know Kim Woobin? He's my older brother."
"Look at that, we've got the famous older brother thing in common," I pointed out, "Any other questions?"
"Hmm, do you have a boyfriend?" Dohee asked curiously.
"Nope," I shook my head, "Though I'll let you in on a little secret. I may or may not be kinda sorta a lot in love with Kai from Exo. Ok I've never met him, but I want to meet him."
"Wait, you've never met the members of Exo?" Dohee rose an eyebrow, "But you're best friends with a member of Exo."
"Yeah..." I trailed off, "My parents are kinda uptight about me being friends with kpop idols. They made sure to keep me out of that lifestyle as much as possible."
"But your brother is a kpop star," Dohee said slowly, "How do they plan on keeping you out of the lifestyle."
"You'd be surprised," I snorted, "Well, they weren't always like that. Long story short I dated a kpop idol, it ended badly, and they've tried to keep me out of the press ever since."
"I see," Dohee nodded.
"Anyways," I clapped my hands together, "Let's go do something fun. Just the two of us. Dinner?"
"Sure!" Dohee jumped up, smiling widely. We both grabbed our wallets and headed out onto the large sprawling campus. We made our way to a pizza restaurant and placed our order before taking out seats. We chatted pleasantly while waiting for our food, discussing small things like our classes and childhood memories with Chen and Rap Monster. Man, I'm glad that Dohee is such a cool roommate. I was really worried that I was going to be rooming with someone that I didn't get along with. Granted we've only know each other for like a day now, but we seem to get along already and it's better to send out positive vibes into the universe, right? That's what my mom always told me. Now if only those positive vibes can help me get a boyfriend.
I walked into my cooking class the next day, my eyes scanning the room for Lay. I'm hoping that Baekhyun was right and that we will have the cooking class together. My eyes stopped when I saw Lay's tall, thin, figure. I quickly walked up to him and introduced myself.
"Uh, hi," I smiled shyly, "I'm Heesoo, Chen oppa's friend."
"Heesoo!" Lay grinned happily, "It's so nice to meet you!"
"Nice to meet you too," I gave Lay a hug.
"You should have seen Baekhyun last night," Lay laughed, "He came running into the apartment screaming about how he met you and rubbing it in all of our faces. And then Suho and D.O joined in, it was obnoxious."
"Oh don't pretend you're not gonna do the same thing when you get home tonight," I snickered.
"Ok, you caught me, I totally will," Lay admitted, a bright smile filling his face and lighting up his eyes. At that moment, the teacher walked in and told us all to get into pairs and to choose carefully because these would be our pairs for the semester. Lay and I looked at each other with a "we're gonna be partners, right?" look causing us both to laugh.
"Oppa," Some random girl cooed, walking up to Lay, "Will you be my partner?"
"Oh uh...mian," Lay apologized, "Heesoo is my partner."
The girl pouted and rolled her eyes as Lay dramatically threw his arms around my waist and hugged me tightly. She stalked off to find another partner and I burst out laughing.
"Poor girl," I snickered, "I have crushed the dreams of every girl in this room by being partners with you."
"You think?" Lay rose an eyebrow, seeming surprised by my comment.
"Duh," I nodded earnestly, "Oppa, come on, you're Lay of Exo. Pretty big deal."
"Yeah I guess," Lay pursed his lips, "It's still just so weird to me. I mean we've only been debuted for a year, well almost a year. Not quite used to it yet."
"Chen oppa says the same thing," I said quietly, pondering, "Anyways let's get to cooking our first meal."
The class quickly ended and we both left with a plate of food. We walked together towards the courtyard, chatting amicably about different things. Finally, it was time for us to split up to go to our different dorms. I gave Lay a side hug and headed towards my dorm.
"Doheeah!" I called as I walked into our dorm room, "Wait, can I call you that? How old are you?"
"I'm 20," Dohee laughed, "What about you?"
"Hey me too!" I cheered, "We're chingu!"
"More importantly, what did you bring me?" Dohee asked, looking at the plate of food in my hands.
"Dinner," I grinned, setting the plate down the our little table and handing Dohee a pair of disposable chopsticks, "Eat up."
