Chapter Fifty Four

[ Dohee ]

Who would have thought that Heesoo would have had to go through all that? I can’t help thinking about it and sigh as I stir a bit in my nap. We both come from pretty hectic families, that come with their own trials. I feel a bit sad for Heesoo and her mother though.

“Stop thinking about it.” A gentle whisper says.

I open my eyes and turn to look at Kris, his eyes still closed as a sigh gently escapes my lips. I poke his leg and watch as he opens one eye to look at me. He smiles softly and reaches out to pat my head “don’t worry about it; she’s a strong girl” he whispers. I roll my eyes and pat his cheek softly “I know that” I reply. I look over at Heesoo and Kai and smile softly. She deserves all the happiness in the world and if anything tries to get in her way, I’ll bring that obstacle down.

“Stop worrying about it.” Kris says as he pulls me closer to him. The sudden pull making my head fall lightly on his chest. Feeling a bit embarrassed I hit his chest lightly as he chuckles softly in my ear. I feel them begin to burn slightly and push away from him embarrassed. "Don't chuckle in my ear like that!"

The car slowly comes to a halt and I look out the window to see that we’ve arrived. Mr Lee gets out the car and goes to the back to grab our suitcases and put them on the jet. “Let’s go help him” I say to Kris as I pry from his grip, hopping out of the car.
Making my way over to Mr Lee, I grab a suitcase and follow him as he goes to load it in the jet. “Heesoo is lucky to have you as a friend” he says with a smile as I hand him the suitcase. I nod and smile in return “I am lucky to have met her.” He reaches out and places his hand on my shoulder “It’s good that you both have each other. She’s like a daughter to me and I wouldn’t ask for a better friend than you and those young men. I can tell just from her smile that she is very happy with all of you and that’s all a father wants for his daughter; to be happy.” He pats my shoulder again and walks off back to the car. I smile as I watch him go as he confirms to me without knowing- Heesoo deserves all the happiness in the world.

With everything prepared and ready we wave goodbye to Mr Lee as we enter the jet. I stretch my arms as I take a seat and lean back  against it. “I can’t go back to sleep” I mutter softly as I look out the window. Heesoo taps me with her foot, causing me to look at her “You all good?” She mouths to me. I nod and smile back as I look over at Kris who is distracted by the mini bar that’s on the jet. Shaking my head I smile and look at Heesoo. “You all good?” I also ask her. She smiles widely and nods. She must be really excited to go back. I hope it’ll be a special time for her.

The jet takes off and I decide to go to the bathroom to wash my face and refresh myself a bit. Kris follows me to the door and leans against it as I wash my face. As I begin to dry off my face with a towel I look over at him and arch my brow. “What?” I ask as I look at him. He simply smiles and shrugs his shoulders. Rolling my eyes I hang the towel back and make my way back to sit down but he blocks the door and looks down at me playfully.

“Do you need something Mr Wu?” I ask him. He scoffs lightly as leans down till we’re at eye level, causing me to take a step back at the sudden closeness. “Y-ya” I begin to say taking another step back. He’s too close....
“Ya” I say again as I look him in the eye before looking somewhere else. I can’t....it’s too much. I put my hands on his shoulders and shut my eyes tightly as I push him back “ya waaaeeee?” I ask softly so the others don’t hear as I try to push him away. He just chuckles and places his hands on mine. I feel his lips brush against my cheek and my eyes open quickly, looking at his face that’s inches away from mine. He smiles gently at me and pulls me along out of the bathroom and back to our seats. I can’t help but blush madly behind him as I follow along. I fan my face a bit as I take my seat. I’m not even gonna look at Heesoo because she’ll probably just give me that face that I know all too well.

“ Everything all good?” Kai asks. I don’t bother looking because I know my face will say everything. I hear Kris chuckle “yeah everything’s good” he replies as he slips his hand into mine. He gently squeezes my hand and I give it a squeeze back. This is going to be a long plane ride.

Several hours later.

[ Kris ]

“Finally. My legs need some sunshine” Kai says as he gets up. I look down at Dohee who was still asleep and smile. I reach over to her and gently caress her face. She mumbles softly at my touch and slowly blinks her eyes open. “We’re here.” I say with a smile as I stand holding my hand out to her. She lazily takes my hand in hers and stands. “Finally” Dohee mutters under her breath as she walks in front of me. Shaking my head I follow behind her as we make our way outside.

“Ah that feels nice” I say as I close my eyes. The wind blowing against my face and the warmth of the sun beaming down- welcome to LA.

“Kris stop being weird and hurry up” Dohee calls out. I scoff lightly as I open my eyes, continuing my way down the stairs towards the rest of them. Weird? Nugu weird? I think to myself with a slight pout.

Standing next to Kai, I look around and smile “so what’s on the agenda?” Kai and Dohee immediately look at Heesoo like two lost puppies. “Wow, was someone recording that?” I say with a chuckle. Heesoo laughs as well as she grabs out her phone. “Well our lift is running a bit late but they’ll be here in a minute. I was thinking maybe we could go to the house, get settled and then we can look at our options and decide from there?” Everybody nods in agreement just as a car pulls up. “Ah here’s our lift.” Heesoo says as she waves at the driver. I wrap my arm around Dohees neck and pull her gently towards me “not to alarm you or make you blush or anything but I plan on having alone time with miss Dohee and one lucky Kris wufan” I whisper in her ear. I hear her gasp softly and if I was in front of her, she would be like a tomato. “Y-ya Kr-Kris!!” She mutters before escaping my grip and running off to Heesoo.

“One day, she is gonna destroy you.” Kai says as he pats my shoulder. “Well if the day comes, I’ll let you know.” I reply back as we both chuckle looking over at them. Heesoo smiles and waves for us to get in the car.
