사랑 참 어렵다 (Love is hard)

Chapter Forty Eight.

[ Kris ]

There's nothing like being at home but.....a smile spreads over my face as I cover it with my hand. My body feels so light just thinking about her. I can feel weird chuckles, almost giggles wanting to escape from my mouth whenever I think of her. Sighing I lean my head back on the seat and smile.

She's driving me crazy and she hasn't even done anything but be herself.

The jet ride was long but luckily I was comfortable. I quickly grab my bags from the jet and make my way to where my pickup car should be waiting. I grab my phone from my bag and turn it on. I hope she doesn't feel like I've been ignoring her. I just have two phones, one in Korea and one in America. I see my ride and make my way towards it. Hmmm. Frowning I look through my phone. No new messages......

Guess she didn't try to get in contact with me at all.

Sighing I shove my phone deep back into my bag. Didn't even want to send me a message to ask why I wasn't messaging her back?

Only she can make me feel giddy and then insecure in a second. Yeap, she's driving me crazy. I feel like a kid.

"KKRRRRRRRIIIIIIISSSSSSSS!"

What? Who's calling me? I look around but I don't see anyone. Strange, must have been my imagination.

"KRIS!"

Ok, someone definitely called my name. I turn around and my bag nearly slips off my shoulder. I can't believe what I'm seeing.

"Welcome home" She shouts as she continues to run towards me. I'm frozen on the spot, the sight making me feel like someone's squeezing my heart. She laughs and smiles as she reaches me and jumps, wrapping her arms around me as I hold her tightly.

As I said, giddy then insecure now I'm back to giddy.

"Welcome home Kris. How were your holidays?" She says breathless as I hold her. I can't believe this is happening so I'm scared to let her go in case she'll turn into air and evaporate and disappear; being just the wishful thinking of my imagination.

"Kris? Kris I can't breathe." She says with a chuckle. I put her down and let go of her only slightly just in case she really does disappear from me.

Dohee.

Her smiling face looking up at me. Her hair slightly messy from running towards me. I caress her face softly and laugh. "What's so funny?" She says as she tries to wriggle from my grasp. I lock my hands together behind her back and pull her towards me. "How did you know?" I see her blush and shy away from my stare and closeness which makes me chuckle and want to tease her more. As she begins to reply I lean my face down towards her and nuzzle the top of her head down to her cheek. "Kris stop!" She says as she tries to cover her face which makes me chuckle more. I sigh playfully and lay my head down on her shoulder. "I've missed you a lot" I whisper softly as I feel her moving her hands away from her face. "I've missed you too" She replies back softly before pecking me gently on the side of the head. I quickly turn to look at her and she just stares at me and smiles.

Chuckling I slip my hand in hers and pull her towards the car. She sure is a mixture of shyness and confidence. She squeezes my hand as we walk towards the car and chuckles "You owe me a weeks worth of free food. You know how hard it was to find out your flight details?! It was so secretive I had to use my own connections." She says with a smile as we enter the car. "It's like you're the president or something."

As the car begins to move she smiles at me from the other end of car as she leans her head back and sighs softly. I smile and look out the window trying to calm down my feels.

She is definitely driving me crazy.

I can't help but feel like a little kid. She makes me feel so.....

My train of thought was interrupted by her body slamming against mine. She chuckles as she says sorry before wrapping her arm around mine and leans her head against me. I chuckle as I look down at her. She knows what she does to me but she doesn't know the extent. I reach over and buckle her in before kissing her gently on the head.

This was worth the roller coaster ride.

[ Dohee ]

"Dohee? Dohee? We're here."

I feel him unbuckle my seat belt as he tries to nudge me to wake up. His voice sounds so refreshing. I sigh and peek an eye open before closing it quickly. I hear him chuckle as he mumbles something under his breath. Before I knew it I feel him push me and pin me down against the chair.
I fling my eyes open and look up at him, his body towering over me; a smirk on his face. He leans closer towards me and whispers in my ear. "We can stay in he-" he starts to say before I cut him off by covering his mouth with my hand. "I'm up! Let's go!" I say looking up at him. He chuckles and smiles as he shakes his head moving away from me. He quickly gets out and comes over to my side and opens the door for me. "Come on let's go. I'll treat you to some of that free food".

I grab hold of his hand and chuckle as we make our way towards a smoothie stand. "You never answered my question. How were your holidays?" I ask as I look up at him just as he leans down and pecks me on lips. "K-Kris!" I stutter out before burying my face in his chest. I hear him chuckle as he wraps an arm around me. I punch him softly.

What is he trying to do to me?

"Let's just go back to the dorm." I mumble against his chest. I hear him chuckle again before patting my head. "Let's go eat something delicious first. Kaja" he says as leads me away.

Stupid Kris.

I think about what my grandma said and I look up at Kris.

"My mum would have really liked you." I find myself muttering. "Hmmm?" Kris asks looking down at me. I quickly look away realising what I said "n-nothing. Let's just eat."

We end up just going to the nearest place ordering burgers and chips. It was cosy and just right. I still had trouble looking at him cause every time I did.....it felt like my heart was pounding out of my chest and he could hear it beating. It felt so embarrassing. At one stage he didn't say anything but smiled.....it drove me insane!

I'll end up going crazy.

[ Kris ]

This is the first time I've heard her talk about her parents. I'm guessing she had a good time over the holidays. I pretend I didn't hear her say anything and continue to make our way to some food.

*time passes*

"I'm so full, thanks" She says looking up at me before quickly looking away. I feel a smile spreading across my face as I notice her embarrassment. I make my way over to her and pull her up with a smile "kaja" I bend down and whisper in her ear "don't be nervous, I'm still the same Kris."

[ Dohee ]

What?! I looked at him speechless and watch as he drags me along as he pays and then leads me out of the restaurant.

"I-it's not that!" I say as we walk/him dragging me along. How do I explain it to him? Should I explain it to him? I've never been like this before. I free my hand from his and stop. I need to get it off my chest.

Kris looks back at me and smiles before coming towards me. I grab his hand and put it over where my heart is. "I think my hearts going to be explode ok? So I need some time to adjust and calm down so that I don't faint whenever you look at me."

Kris just blinks, looking at me like I've spoken a foreign language to him. He then smiles and pats my head before turning around, bending down as he monitors for me to hop on his back. I shake my head and hop on as I wrap my arms and legs around him. "Just be patient with me. I'll be confident and strong soon to look you in the face and smile at you.....like you do to me."

[ Kris ]

Thank goodness she couldn't see my face....otherwise it'd be my pink face she'd be looking at.

"Like you do to me....."

Definitely driving me crazy.
