Heesoo's POV

I was up before the sun the next morning, preparing everything for the big day. We were supposed to be honoring our ancestors today and there was a lot of food to make. I was rushing to get everything cleaned and prepped before my parents came down. The last thing I need is them yelling at me. Though I'm sure they'll find something else to yell about. They always do. Luckily, I finished everything in time, as I was just placing the last dish out when my family came downstairs.

"It's ok," My mom sniffed, looking around, "Could have been better."

"Yes mother," I nodded.

"Have you learned anything while at college?" My dad rose an eyebrow at me as we sat at the table, "Cause it sure doesn't seem like it."

"Yes father," I clenched my jaw. I can do this. I only have a day and a half left. I can handle this.

"I'm sure Heesoo is learning a lot," Leeteuk inputted, "She's a very smart girl."

"She could be doing better," My mom commented, "Now go get dressed in something presentable Heesoo. You look ridiculous."

I nodded in response and left to go upstairs. Left on my bed was a bright yellow and orange hanbok. It wasn't bad....but it definitely wasn't good. Why did she have to go buy a new hanbok? I already have a gorgeous one. I sighed heavily and got ready. By the time I made it back downstairs all of our relatives had arrived. I smiled and greeted each of them. Today will be a lot easier to handle, what with having everyone as a buffer. The day seemed to pass quickly, as we went through the typical rituals and processes of the holiday.

*That night*

"I'm very disappointed in you," My mom said as soon as the last person left, "You are a mess. You look terrible, you've been a complete idiot, I can't believe you're my daughter. No wonder Kyuhyun got rid of you."

"Mianhaeyo," I looked down.

"Are you going to cry now? Ridiculous," She shook her head, "Pull yourself together. Your father and I are ashamed by you. Just get out of my sight."

I held back the tears as I went up to my room. I can't believe I'm still letting my mom get to me. Why do I care so much about what she thinks? She's been saying this stuff to me for years. And yet, every time it makes me cry. I quickly change and crawl into my bed, grabbing my phone.

Me: I cannot wait for this holiday to be over.

Dohee: Why?

Me: I miss you guys. It sucks here.

Dohee: I'm sorry. ☹ I'll see you tomorrow though.

Me: Yeah. I'll see you tomorrow.

I sighed heavily. Why did I even come home? I feel like I'm going to lose all of the progress I have made. Being here is just going to shoot me back to how I was after Kyuhyun left me. I was a mess then, I had zero self-esteem, and I wasa so close to giving up. I was snapped out of my thoughts when my phone beeped.

Kai: Just wanted to say I love you, I miss you, and good night. :*

Me: Meeya more. I'll see you tomorrow. :*

I plugged my phone in and quickly fell asleep, impatient for the time to go back to school. The morning came quickly and before I knew it, my dad was in my room, barking at me to clean up the house. I stumbled out of bed, a little disoriented.

"Stop being so lazy," My dad rolled his eyes, "Get moving. Your mom wants this whole house cleaned before you leave."

"Yes sir," I nodded. I tied my hair up into a ponytail and started cleaning the house. Hours later, after never-ending comments from my parents, and recleaning several times, I was finally done. Exhausted, I grabbed my bag and headed towards the car. Mr. Lee took my stuff and placed it in the car as I turned to Leeteuk to give him a hug goodbye.
