(56) Last Night with You

Sometimes he wonder, just why did he chose acting as his profession. Ni hindi nya kayang tumanggap ng critisism ng ganon kadali. It's either he took it to the heart or he got really angry with his critics.

Ngayon, nasa harap nanaman sya ng mga mapang-husgang mata ng tao, waiting for them criticize him. To make judgements without knowing the truth behind everything. The difference is, someone confident stood beside him. Someone who's not scared of people's scrutinizing eyes, and sharp words.

Kasper is beside him. Kasper is holding him, and he's more than glad to let the guy hold him for the rest of the night.

"Ngumiti ka naman Mrs. Kim. Minsan na nga lang ako makalakad sa red carpet, yung hindi ka pa masaya."

Why would he even smile? He's seriously having a hard time right now. He can't even pull off a proper walk on the red carpet. Nagulat sya ng biglang tumigil si Kasper.

"Hindi tayo lalakad hangga't hindi ka ngumingiti."

"Kasper." Pilit nyang hinatak ang lalaki pero ayaw nitong tuminag. Shit, nakakahiya. Gusto nya nalang malusaw sa pwestong tinigilan nila. People are already whispering but Kasper didn't seem to care. Hindi makakaproceed ang iba pang cast kung nagiinarte si Kasper ng ganto.

"Si Daehyun lang naman ang kasunod natin. Hayaan mo sya."

Napa-face palm sya. Kasper will always be Kasper.

"Dali na, nandito na nga tong superhero mo eh. Kasperman, the man of steel ver 2.o"

My god. Sinabi nya na bang Kasper will be his death? Nginisian sya ng lalaki. He faked a smile in front of the guy's face.

"Happy?"

Nginitian sya ng lalaki bago nito iabot ang braso sakanya. He willingly accepted it like it's a normal thing to do.

"Now, should we fly or should we melt people with my super ultra laser beam?"

"Shut up." Inis nyang bulong habang naglalakad sila. Saglit silang tumigil sa harap at ngumiti sa mga camera (Kasper did all the smiling) and then proceeded inside while his hand dangled on the guy's arms.

"Our Zei is here!" Sigaw ng director nila ng makita sya.

He tried smiling but he guessed it turns out to be a grimace. Everyone seems to notice it. Kailangan nyang umarte, magaling syang artista.

Maybe that's the reason why he chose this profession. Right. Maybe acting helps him conceal his real feelings from other people. Maybe putting all his experiences in life into other character's life made it easier for him to move on.

Ang kailangan nya lang gawin ay umarte. Umarteng masaya, umarteng hindi nasasaktan. Kaya nya yon. Tonight, he's not Baekhyun. He is someone else, maybe Zei. Right, as confident as Zei.

Huminga sya ng malalim bago ngumiti.

"Good evening po." Nag bow sya sa mga ito, and the spirits in them seems to come back too.

They greeted everyone and everybody. Kumaway sa mga camera and greeted some co-actors on the way. Then Daehyun asked him the million dollar question.

"Si Chanyeol hindi mo kasama?"

That hit him harder than it should have. Nag waver ang ngiti nya. Bigla syang nawala sa hwisyo, everything seems to blur around him. But a hand snaked its way inside his palm, it was warm. Tumingala sya, and he was greeted with yet another warm smile from Kasper.

That somehow, helped him.

"Baka malalate."

"Di kayo nagsabay?"
