My precinct recieved evidence showing the real person for a hit and run that happened a couple weeks ago and me and two other detectives were on our way to arrest Kwon Jiyong, the Executive Director of a very large and successful business in Seoul, Korea.
When the photo of the suspect was faxed to our office I was the one that got it from the machine. I recognized him immediately because I had seen him before, I just didnt know who he was. I had witnessed him at the station talking to another detective who had recently gotten in trouble for being a crooked cop.
My heart skipped a beat whenever I saw this guy, Jiyong apparently. It even did summersaults just looking at the picture. I had gotten so lost in my thoughts that my partners had to shake me a couple times to get my attention.
"Sorry," I said as I got out of the car.
They both eyed me skeptically, I was an american but had lived in Seoul since I was 16 due to my parents "work". Needless to say they had been gunned down which is why after graduating from High School and College I joined the police. I wasnt well accepted since most of the other detectives were male. I was assaulted on several occasions but never brought it up. Things were hard enough and I was already dwindling on the edge of just saying, fuck it and throwing my badge. Its not like I was hurting for money my parents left me with quite a bit. I just worked mostly cause I got bored easily and I enjoyed most of my job but I was starting to feel like it wasnt worth it.
We approached the backdoor just as Jiyong and his two security guards were entering the parking garage. Jiyong had already been trying to flee.
"Who the hell are you guys?" he said eyeing me with only the slightest interest.

I got stuck on his eyes and one of my partners nudged me and I jumped slightly. I heard them both stifling laughter. Nice, something else for them to fuck with me about.
"Im Detective Zoe Malone, Kwon Jiyong, you are under arrest for a hit and run that happened two weeks ago," I said grabbing his wrist and slapping the handcuffs on one.
