Hey guys! So here's the 10th chapter! I am so excited for this book to really take off. The story is interesting so far and I want to see how it differs from the original Gilmore Girls series. Thank you for reading, continue! ^.^

"Good morning!" Rory says, coming out of her room.

"Mornin' Rory." I down the rest of the milk in my cereal. I put the bowl in the sink and grab the box of pop-tarts in the cupboard. "Want one?"

"Was that meant to be a rhetorical question?" she raises her eyebrows and heads up the stairs. To Mom's room I suppose.

I place 4 pop-tarts in the toaster and then sip from my cup. Ahh. Coffee.

"MOM!" I hear Rory shout from upstairs.

I sigh but make my way up the stairs and into Mom's room. When I enter the room, I gasp. Mom's lying in bed, all snug and cozy under the covers. "Mom!"

"Oh god. What?" she groans, drowsily.

"What do you mean, what? We have school today!"

"I know! That's why I set my alarm early." she rolls over and closes her eyes.

Rory grabs her pillow. "It's 7:10!"

  "No."

She smacks the pillow on Mom's head. "Mom! You're not listening! It's 7:10!"

"No it's not! It's a quarter to 6!" she turns to us. "I set the clock,"

I pick up the clock and shove it in her face.

She pales. "It's 7:10!" she jumps out of bed so Rory and I move out of her way. She runs down the hall and into the bathroom.

  "I can't believe we're gonna be late." I groan.

"I can't be late on the first day of school." Rory says as she speeds down the hall, with me behind her. "Do you know what happens when people are late on their first day?!"

"No!!" Mom shouts from the bathroom.

"They're labeled 'the late girl.' For the rest of the year!" Rory says angrily.

"My my, how clever! You and Meryl Streep should star in a movie together." Mom shouts sarcastically.

"You'd better hurry! I have no intent of being marked 'the late girl' on the first day and the rest of my life." I yell.

Mom pops out of the bathroom. "Oh no." she walks back into her room.

"No. No 'oh no.' We have to get moving here." I follow her into her room.

  "I have no clothes."

"Oh stop." I roll my eyes.

"No, I have no good clothes." she says looking annoyed. "All of my clothes are at the dry cleaners."

Rory starts getting really annoyed. "It's 7:16."

Mom ignores her. "Oh my God, I was gonna wear my blue suit with the flippy skirt. I look so great in the flippy skirt."

  "It's 7:17." Rory says.

Mom grabs her shoulders and turns her to the door. "Y'know what? Why don't you go downstairs and warm up the car. Huh? That'd be super." she pushes Rory out.

"Fine. Just hurry! Make sure she hurries." she tells me as she leaves.

"I will!" I shout. Then I turn and look at Mom. She smiles hopefully. I cross my arms.
