Invitation for the 8th

"Victoria's secret?!??" Maddy and I sang in unison.

"Yes darlings-how do you feel about passing on the information to them so they can get in touch?" Laura questioned.

Maddy turned to me. "This would be an amazing opportunity y/n. But ultimately its up to you"

"Yes" I whispered. I turned back to the projection of Laura on the wall. "Yes why not" i stated fireworks of excitement released within me.

"My thoughts exactly. Look ladies lovely talking. I will get my team to pass on details. Now i must dash i have a botox meeting. Loves to London from the big apple" Laura said

"Bye Laura" Me and Maddy replied.

The Skype call ended and in sync we spun our chairs to face each other and screamed in excitement. We jumped up and hugged each other jumping up and down. I was potentially going to be a V.S model!

We heard many footsteps outside the office and walked towards the glass door currently covering by a blind we opened it to find nearly the whole office outside the door, including Joe and Caspar. It was clear everyone was eager to know what the screaming was for. Maddy looked at me and I nodded before she announced.

"Y/n's details are being passed on to Victoria's Secret!!!"

The announcement was met by an encore of gasps and cheers before i was briskly pulled into a hug by Joe and Caspar who were at the front the crowd i dragged Maddy with me and we both engulfed.

"Free food in there guys!!!" Maddy announced she was referring to the spread we had on the meeting table.

Some of the crowd diverged there and some went back to their desks. Me and Maddy and a few others were left in the doorway.

"Y/N im so happy!! I'll keep an eye out for an email but in the meantime enjoy London when do you go back?" Maddy asked

"Im here for three nights" I answered

"Amazing have a great time and ill be in contact!!" She said before turning and returning to her office followed by a few others.

I returned to the meeting room to get my bag and grab some food.

"Congratulations y/n that's amazing news" I heard Joe say before i was pulled into another hug.

"Thank you!" I replied "Im still in shock to be honest"

"I don't blame you haha"

I reached under the table and grabbed my phone and check the time it was only 1 i had half an hour before meeting Lucy. I grabbed a banana from the table and rested against it.

"So y/n um we well me I couldn't help overhearing that you were hear for three nights. Are you still here on the night of the 8th?" Joe asked

I looked down at my phone it was currently the 6th.

"Yeah yeah i leave the afternoon of the 9th-why?" I was curious as to why he'd asked me.

"Well on the 8th it's my birthday and I'm having a party. I've rented out this club in London and I mean you don't have to but i mean like depends what you're doing i did just meet you like an hour a go but you know the um the invites there if you fancy me. NO! I MEAN IT IF YOU FANCY IT NOT ME."

Joe's words were mumbled confused and after his massive slip up he'd turned blood red. His tall friend Caspar was in stitches.

"Ahha I know what you meant don't worry" to be honest i was equally embarrassed this was awkward.
And I felt sorry for Joe, Caspar was wetting himself and that wasn't helping Joe.

"That sounds great where and what time is it" I asked trying to move on.

"Shall I text you the details" he suggested.

ooo smooth Joe smooth.

At this statement the tall friend stopped his laughing completely as if someone had fired a gun.
I reached in my bag and grabbed my phone I unlocked it and created a contact under the name Joe.
He entered his number and I pressed saved before locking my phone and putting it back in my bag.

I told him I'd probably have a very keen best friend also looking for an invite and he said that was cool. I still had about 20 mins to kill before Luc came so i sat with Caspar and Joe they vlogged me and it felt so weird. Because you basically treat a camera like a person and talk and look to it. They told me abit more about YouTube and how it worked as a job-before asking about me.

I tried to avoid it. Because I'd get the "oh you left uni, why" and I'd have to explain everything every last detail to two people I'd only just met. I'd have to tell them about David and the accident and Mark and I was just on such a high I didn't want to be pulled down. I just told the boys I was unemployed. Which was actually the truth.

It got to about 5 mins before Lucy was due and I said i best be going.

Joe offered to walk me down and I accepted. I gave Caspar a hug goodbye whilst receiving yet another congrats and i told him Id see him on the 8th at Joes party. As i walked to go down the stairs I waved to Maddy in her office and she waved back. And as I stepped down the first step i got a chorus of "Bye!!!" from people at desks.

"Bye thank you" I replied cheerily.

I reached down stairs and the lime green sofas again. Out of the tall glass walls i could see Lucy grasping countless bags. As I caught her glance she turned and waved energetically.

"That's the friend I was on about" I chuckled

"Let me guess she likes shopping?" Joe joked

"Yeah just a bit" I replied.

We walked over the the door and he opened it for me. The September sun was actually shining for once and the outside warmth hit us. He gave me a hug goodbye followed by another congratulations. And said he'd look forward to the 8th.

And just as he was about to renter the building he realised he had been locked out and had to rung through to Maddy who honestly didn't seem surprised. Maybe being clumsy was just a joe thing?
