Chapter 25: Speedster

  I yawned, walking out of my room in the Young Justice Arizona base. "Morning, Maroon." Snowy said, taking a sip of orange juice. "Morning." "Why did you choose to stay here?" "What'd you mean?"

  "What about your other friends? And Taylor? Shouldn't you be at the 'Super quarters' with them?" "I mean, I guess so.. yeah. Actually.. I don't know. It just feels natural that I stay here." Snowy raised a eyebrow. "But.. you live in Rhode Island. At least your family does. Your family is important. They come first." "I don't even know where it is." "Taylor didn't tell you?" "She wouldn't tell me if i didn't ask first."

  "And.. that's how she works?" "Yeah." "Really?" "It only makes sense." "Eh, I guess so. But you really belong with your friends." "But you're also my friends-" "Yeah, I know."

  "But we're already a team. And your friends are a team too." "She's probably going to be out with the elementals all the time." "Just because Allison gave her her powers, doesn't mean she needs act like her. She isn't her." Snowy reasoned. "I never said she was.. "

  "You're scared aren't you?" "Of what?" "Her not doing anything with you." "Maybe a little.."   

"Why?"

  "It's been just me and my family since I was 7. No connection to the outside world. No connection to the super world. Nothing. I haven't had any friends since Harmony and Saturn. And you know how they turned out to be."

  Snowy sighed. "I know how you feel. It was always me and my mother. I'm a only child. I have my mother's side though.. But they're non-supers. I still think you should be with your friends. How about you?"

  "I think I'll go. Just have to ask Taylor where it is." Snowy nodded, smiling. I got up, and headed to my room.

  "What's the password?" The door asked. "Speedster." The door opened. "Welcome back, Maroon." The door said in a cheerful voice. "Thanks, door." I sighed. "For the last time too."

  I went into my closet, took out some clothes, and put them in a suitcase. I took the Alignments map from behind the bed, and smiled. "Hey, Carter was right. I would need this later on."

  I threw my bag over my shoulder, and went out the door. "Where are you going?" Martin asked, looking at my suitcase. "I'm moving out." I said. "I'll come too!"

  "Excuse me?"

  Martin was suddenly wearing a bag, and had a suitcase. "Oh my god.. -" "I'm coming too." Snowy said, dragging her suitcase. I sighed. "Fine. There are probably infinite rooms or something." "Yay." Snowy said, smiling.
We went out of the hallway, and Snowy ran ahead and opened the door.

  "Let's go."
