Chapter 65: The Orb's Gift

I had stopped for a donut, and Colin had sat down with me.

"So," I said through a bite of my donut, "Why're you out of school?" "Grading." "Grading of what?"

"Teamwork exams. Basically you have to do some tests with your pet," Colin explained. "Superman records notes and info of a piece of paper, ans grades you later."

"Was this supposed to happen when the Goblin attacked?" "Yeah, so they're doing extra testing this year. So you know, first years can still have the knowledge of people in higher levels," He explained.

"Oh, well, I don't know that.." "Yeah, because you're a Super. You guys are lucky," Colin said with a sigh, "It's been so much work at Mystic. The fire.. Stallion.. Exron.. Thanos.." "Why's that your problem?" "Because you're my friend, Maroon. I've been researching them to help you. Haven't you questioned why Passion knows so much?"

"Oh! Wow, so you're like a dynamic duo, huh?"

"Yeah, I guess you could say that. She's next door, did you know?" "What? But I swear we made a girl's dorm when we were fixing Mystic?" "Yea, you did. The students wanted to have mixed dorms, and they got their wish. By mixed dorms I mean girls could have rooms next to boys, and so on,"

"Oh, that makes sense."

"I can tell that you'd have wanted it," "Yeah, I would.. Taylor and I could have started early.." I said dreamily. Colin snapped his fingers, bringing me back to reality. "What?" "Just reeling you back in,"

"So what now?" "Well, I wanted to talk to you about being a Super,"

"Colin, you know you can't apply until after--" "I know, but I wanted to apply. What you said really stuck with me.."

A projection came from Colin's necklace:

"We can get you out of detention!" Carter said, poking out from a bush. I raised a eyebrow, putting down my pencil. "But these windows are sealed shut, Cart." "That's why I brought Colin!"

Colin, in front of the bush, snapped his fingers, the window sliding open. I climbed out the window, making sure the coast was clear. I looked back at my desk, "But I promised that i'd stay in the classroom-"

"You will." Carter said, nodding to Colin. Colin waved his hands around, a exact copy of me sitting in the seat I was just sitting in. He started doing his homework, like nothing ever happened. "Colin should be a superhero already, I swear."

Colin blushed lightly, smiling awkwardly. I hesitated, "But what about-" "Just shut up and run!" Carter snapped as Colin closed the window.

The projection ended, and Colin looked up. "See? You said I should be a super, and I was in my first year," He sighed, "But you, Taylor, and Issac got to be supers, along with others. I honestly think it was a good choice though,"

"You've been training for years, Taylor is a very powerful super, and so is Issac. The world deserved Aquamarine, North Wind, and Mercury," "I guess so." "Oh shoot.." Colin muttered, looking at his watch.

"Rita's got us skating lessons in a hour! Gotta go, I don't live close, you know, see you!" He called back as he ran out the door.

"A super what?"

"A super tsunami," Passion explained from Atlantis, "It only affects supers." "How the heck does that exist? Plus, couldn't I just make it turn around? Go away?"

"Not exactly. It's too powerful for one super to handle," "No, I mean can't I just stand there? I don't get wet you know.."

"It's still too much for you. And if you tried to run a tornado around it, you're sure to get hurt even more,"

"Wait, when was the message sent?" "Nine minutes ago," Passion answered. "What? I know I'm fast, but I don't even know where Atlantis is," "Neither do I.. Just got teleported,"

"Well then how in the name of-" I saw light around the corner, and soon my whole family stood in front of me.

"Hey big bro!" Miles and Dustin said together. "Hey, uh, dad, how're we going to get to Atlantis?" "We-" "Wait, hold on, can you repeat that Passion?"

"Sure. So you got a few more seconds,'

My eyes widened, "What?!" "Huh?" "Super tsunami.. Dad you know about it, right?" "Yes, I do,"

Katelyn interrupted, "But how're we going to-" "Speed force," Me and Wally said together. "What?"

"We all have to run into the speed force," Wally explained, "And we run so far in we end up in a world where everything's grey. Dad you remember, right? From that one time?"

"Yes, I remember," He said, "We can do that. We all just have to work together, Dustin Miles, let Katie and Payton help yo-" "Dad, I'll tell you it straight, without any sugar. So I took Dustin and Miles to Mystic, said I had something to bring in for you,"

My dad raised a eyebrow.

Katelyn took a deep breath, "ISortakindatookthemtotheorbandforcedtheorbtogivethemsuperspeed," She mumbled.

"You what?" "Sorry, dad.." "We can't change that now, so we'll let it rest. Dustin, Miles, still stick with your sisters, they will lend you some speed,"

And with that, my whole family sped off into the speedforce.
