"The I.V. and your hospital bed. This was no accident, this was a therapeutic chain of events. This is the scent of dead skin on a linoleum floor. This is the scent of quarantine wings in a hospital. It's not so pleasant, and it's not so conventional. It sure as hell ain't normal, but we deal, we deal." Camisado, Panic! At The Disco

The lights were still off when I woke up in the slightly warm hospital bed. Everything seemed to hurt. But what hurt most was my mind, which couldn't seem to settle. Next to me was the top of a medicine bottle sitting on a steel cart. I tried to sit up, but when I saw that the IV wouldn't allow me to, I stretched my hand to grab on to it. Inside of the cap were two tiny light purple pills, waiting to be swallowed. It was a painful process, but I managed to sit up in bed. The I.V hurt to be adjusted, and for a moment, I debated whether or not I should pull it out. Deciding not to, I looked to my right, where the door was firmly planted. There was a huge window stuck in the middle of it, and outside of the door were two security guards.
Suicide watch? How about yes.
"You're not supposed to wake up for hours." Luke. The blond haired teenager with brown spotting his hair. He was asleep in the chair next to my bed prior to my waking. His eyes had dark circles under them, filled with worry, I guess. His jacket sat next him on the ground, collecting dust.
I narrowed my eyes, realizing what the original plan was. "They were trying to make me sleep through it all."
He slowly nodded, looking down at his fidgeting thumbs. "I know it's not that easy. It's like a fever you can't sweat out." Finally . Somebody other than Callie who understands. Luke pulled out a bottle of water out from the air it seemed, walked over to my bed, and set in on the cart. "You're supposed to take those." He motioned to the tiny pills.
"What time is it?" I forced off the white bottle top, popped in the pills like a pill-pusher would, and chugged half of the water. Actually, scratch that question. "What day is it?" I asked instead.
"Relax, it's only Wednesday." Luke chuckled. "How come you took those pills without a fi- Y'know what, never mind."
I disregarded Luke's question, already knowing that he was going ask why I was so okay with taking random pills. Maybe I was just finally starting to let go, and break down my walls of paranoia. If I could relax with those pills, why would I refuse them? "When can I leave?"
"They said they want to watch you for three days." Luke peeped outside of the window, noticing the men that guarded it. "I didn't know that people would literally watch you, though."
"So I can't go back to school for three days?"
"School should be the least of your worries right now."
"Where is everyone else?"
"It's like 5:30 a.m. Everyone went home."
"Except for you...? Why didn't you go?"
"Who else would watch over you?"
"I dunno, my mom? Those security guards"
"Well, you would think." He paused. "Don't stress about it too much." He started for the door. "I'm going to go home and get some shut eye while I can. You should too."
"Home? I would love to, but I guess I'll settle for shut eye in here."
Before he opened the door, I called out, "Hey, thanks for not bombarding me with questions."
