Aria had been at UCLA for about 2 years (making her 20), without Ezra. She agreed she would always go back to visit him during her summers. Last year she went back to Rosewood and spent the whole time with Ezra, it was like they never up. They slept in the same bed, did everything together and caught up for 3 days straight.
*Last Summer*
It was Aria's last day before her flight back to UCLA and Ezra didn't want her to go.
"Ezra, is my bag in your room?" Aria shouted up to Ezra whilst she finished packing her suitcase, a minute later Ezra came down with her bag and a present.
"Here you go" He said handing her bag over with the present, she looked at him with a smile and confusion over her face. She placed her bag down and opened the present, when she saw it was a photo of them together from a while back.
"Ezra, its gorgeous, thank you" She said opening her arms to hug him. When she pulled away she stared at him for a minute, she pushed a bit of his hair away from his face and smiled. There was so much love between them.
"I have to go" She said quietly. Ezra took a deep breath as Aria put the gift from him in her bag. They walked to her car together as Ezra helped her with her suitcase. When she packed up her car she turned around to face him.
"Thank you" She said. Ezra smiled at her before saying goodbye, she smiled before she stepped closer to her car. In that moment, Ezra couldn't let her go without saying a proper goodbye, so he grabbed her hand and kissed her as he spun her around. When they pulled away she had tear down her cheeks. Ezra wiped them away with his thumb and smiled.
"Hey don't cry, I will see you before you know it" Ezra said laughing ever so slightly, making her smile.
"I love you" She said, even though they broke up they still did love each other.
"I love you too, I promise you, the next time I see you it won't end like this" Ezra promised, she kissed him one last time before getting in her car and driving away.
*Present*
Aria kept that same photo with her every day, not only a copy in her dorm but everywhere. She missed him too much, as did he.
Aria walked out of her favourite class, English. It reminded her so much of Ezra, when they used to stare at each other for a while and no one would notice, the conversations about his future when talking to the rest of the class, the times he couldn't tell his class about his girlfriend so he made someone random up when they asked him. Little did she know that he was there with her and everyone knew.
When she reached her locker she opened it whilst looking at her phone only to discover an envelope which fell out, at first she didn't notice it but when someone picked it up for her she was shocked.
"I think you dropped this" The familiar voice said, Aria instantly looked to her right and jumped into their arms, wrapping her legs around him, making him stumble back a tiny bit. It was Ezra. Tears left her eyes as she kissed him.
"What....what is...how?" Aria stuttered, she was to shocked to finish her sentence, he smiled as she pulled away from the kiss.
"I wanted to surprise you" He replied, everyone was cheering for them. Ezra lowered Aria to the ground, she was still in shock. Ezra was holding Aria fingers as she closed her locker, still in shock.
"How did you...where, where are you going to stay?" Aria asked, smiling.
"That is a surprise, but for right now I wanted to see you" He said, she smiled in reply before kissing him one last time. All the student began to fade away from them as the bell went making it officially summer once again.
"I missed you" She said keeping her head close to his, he moved to kiss her head before picking up her backpack, which she dropped and reaching for her hand. She held his arm with her other hand as they walked out of the school with other students. Ezra put Aria's bag in his car but as she stepped to get in he pulled her ack, but he didn't kiss her this time, he was holding a box.
"Ezra, what did you buy now?" She asked, laughing.
"Open it" He asked,, when she took the box from him he crossed his arms and waited for a reaction. She slowly opened the box, it had a key in it.
"A key? To what?" Aria asked, Ezra laughed at her reaction before telling her to turn it over. Engraved on the back were the words:
I don't break promises.
At first Aria was confused but a moment later it clicked, he isn't leaving her. He moved. For her.
"No you didn't" She said, stepping back. She returned back closer to Ezra still trying too process everything.
"So you're not going back" She said a moment later.
"Not without you" He replied, stepping forward and kissing her.
"Oh, and that's for you" Ezra added, breaking off their kiss.
"So, I can visit you in the middle of the night?" She laughed.
"Not if you live there you can't because I will know your there as my girlfriend" He replied smiling, she had no words. Before she could speak he kissed her one more time.
"Thank you" She whispered moving his curly hair out of his face once again.
