Camille's POV

"She just came up to me just like that..." I tell Lizzy at lunch
"Isn't she one of the cheerleader popular girls?" She asks
"Yeah." I say
"Well maybe you're becoming popular now." Lizzy suggests
"No." I say shaking my head
"Well whatever she wanted to tell you doesn't matter, probably just some prank or whatever." She says
"Yeah true." I say and shrug
Max and Harvey slide into our table.
"Hey Max, Harvey." I say
Max kisses me on the cheek and Harvey gives me a small smile.
"How was your AP physics test?" Max asks
"I probably bombed it." I say
"Well then." Max says
I shake my head.
"What's up with you Harvey?" Lizzy asks
"Nothing." He says dully
I look at Max, he shrugs.
"Harvey are you sure you're okay?" I ask
"For the last time Camille, I'm FINE." Harvey yells
"Okay.." I say quietly
"I'm sorry...I can't-" Harvey gets up from the table and leaves.
"What's up with him?" Lizzy asks
I shrug.
"He might just be stressed, I heard he had a test coming up and it counts a lot towards his final grade." Max says
"Oh that could be a reason.." I say
"I'm sure everything's fine, don't worry Cam." Max says
"Yeah..I won't.." I say trailing off
My mind wanders. I wanna know what's wrong with Harvey. But I've never been so..worried about him.. maybe it's just because I'm dating his brother?.. or...no. No that can't be it. I've liked Max for so long and now i have him. It's just stress..like Max said. Harvey's fine. Perfectly fine...

Laney's POV

I watched as Harvey made his way out of the lunch room. I look back at my table mates. They're all chattering away.
"Can't wait to see you fly high tonight Lane." Matthew says
Football game tonight which means we perform during halftime. Matthew, football star, everyone LOVES him, but me. He flirts with me a lot but I don't go for him. I look back at the exit, I hesitate.
"Excuse me for a second." I say and get up
I quickly walk out of the cafeteria, I turn right to find Harvey. He looked so upset and confused I needed to know what was wrong. I finally find him sitting against the hallway by the stairs to the high school wing.
"Harvey?" I ask
He looks over at me.
"Um hey Laney.." he says
"Are you okay?" I ask as sincerely as I can
He looks at me.
"Um yeah.." he says sitting up
"I know that's not true.." I say
"Are you messing with me Laney cause I'm not in the mood for it." He says
"No. I'm not. I saw you leave the cafeteria. I wanted to make sure you were okay." I say
"You wouldn't care anyway. You have cheerleader business to take care of." He says
I take a seat next to him.
"Actually no. We're just talking about the game tonight." I say quietly
"Oh." Harvey says
"Listen, I'm not as bad as you think." I say
"Oh sure." He says sarcastically
"Really Harvey." I say
"Okay, then give me one thing that makes you not bad." He says turning to face me.
"I'll be honest. Promise you won't tell?" I ask
"Sure..promise." He says
"I really don't like cheerleading that much anymore." I say
"What?! Omg!" He says sarcastically
"Stoppp." I say shoving him
He laughs.
"It's just not something I wanna do anymore. But I can't quit because I'm to good and they need me." I say
"I didn't know that Laney." He says
"Yeah so I'm not that bad. Now can you tell me what's wrong?" I ask
"Well-" he gets cut off
My friends come bounding out of the lunch room.
"Laney what are you doing talking to a NERD." One of them says
I quickly stand up.
"I wasn't talking to him. I was telling him how he'll make big bucks doing everyone's homework for them." I say and laugh. Fake laugh.
Me and Sara, a cheerleader, best friend, (Not really) do our "super cool" handshake.
"Ahaha nice one L. Hey nerd, can you teach me how to be smart?" Sara says and laughs
I do anther fake laugh. Harvey looks as confused as hell. Sara pulls me away along with everyone else. I look back quickly at Harvey and mouth "I'm sorry."

After lunch I find Harvey at his locker getting books. I slowly approach him.
"Harvey.." I start
"What do you want Laney? Here to lie to me again?" He asks annoyed
"Harvey it's not what you think.." I say
"Oh yeah? You completely lied to me. You let your friends make fun of me." He says
"Look, I don't even like them. I just go along to get along. I can't go against them. I'm sorry really. What I told you was the truth. Please trust me." I say
"Whatever. And to think I was going tell you what was wrong with me. Cause apparently there is something wrong with me." He says and walks away slamming his locker
I flinch at the noise and sigh. I need to talk to Max.

I find Max at his locker.
"Max." I say
He looks over.
"Uh..hey Laney?" He says
"Something's wrong with Harvey. And I really think you should talk to him." I say
"Why do you care?" He asks
"Just please trust me on this." I say
"Uh okay whatever you say." He says and walks away
Well that totally worked. I hurry off to my next class.
