Chapter One of Book 2

Max's POV

The day is finally here. The day me, Harvey, and Chara leave for our schools away from home. I was so excited for the day to come but now I'm completely dreading leaving. I've never lived away from home before, is a whole new chapter of my life. I'll survive right?

Harvey and I walk down the road to Camille's house. We promised her we would say goodbye before we left. It's a quiet walk, but there's nothing to say because we don't know what to say. We turn into her driveway and walk up to her porch.
"Do you want me to knock?" I ask quietly
"Sure." Harvey says
I reach my hand up and knock, the door flies open revealing Camille herself.
"Today's the day." She says
We both nod. She steps out onto the porch with us.
"I'm gonna miss you guys." She says hugging both of us
We hug her back.
"Even though I only recently become close with you two, it was the best thing that ever happened to me." She says almost in tears
Harvey wipes away his tears, I hold mine in.
"You two are amazing, don't ever let anyone bring you down. I wish you the best of luck in your net schools." She says now in tears
We hug her once more, her and Harvey are both bawling their eyes out, I keep my tears in.
"Make sure you at least come and say hi when you come home to visit." She says
"We will don't worry." I say
"Thank you Max, for being the best first boyfriend ever." She says
This time I do start crying.
"You're welcome." I say and smile
"And Harvey thank you for being a great friend when I needed you. I really do appreciate it." She says
He smiles while wiping away his tears.
"Well, goodbye. And good luck." She says
We say goodbye and walk back down her driveway.
"Wanna say goodbye to Laney with me?" Harvey asks after a moment of silence
"Yeah." I say quietly
We walk up the road past our house to Laney's. I prepare myself for the crying that's gonna happen between Harvey and Laney, as we turn into her road she's already waiting for us. We come and stand face to face with her.
"Goodbye." She says hugging Harvey
I watch as thy cry together. I stand aside letting them have their moment, then Laney comes over to me.
"Goodbye Max. You were amazing, and Chara's a lucky girl. Good luck in England. And don't become to proper." She says and laughs a little
"Thanks. And I'll try not to." I say
We hug.
"Good luck guys." She says
We nod and walk back down the road. We step into our house and our parents are getting ready to leave.
"Say goodbye to everyone?" Mom asks
We both nod. She looks up at us and sees our sad faces, she comes over and gives us both a hug.
"I know it's hard to say goodbye but you'll be back before you know it." She says
She lets go and goes back into the kitchen.
"Ready to conquer the world?" I ask Harvey
"Yeah. I'm ready." He says

We pull up to the airport, it's quiet, no one really talks because again, we don't know what to say. Mom and Dad helps us get our bags out of the car, we walk in and check in. Chara and her mom waits for us at check in.
"Ready?" She asks me
"Yeah. You?" I ask
She nods.
"I guess this is goodbye." Ms. Paella says
Everyone cracks a tear.
"Good luck Max. Take care of my daughter okay?" Ms. Paella says to me
"Yes ma'am." I say
We do a quick hug. Tilly says goodbye to me next.
"Goodbye Max! Don't forget about me!" She says in tears
"Aw Tilly I won't." I say giving her a big hug
"Chara don't break him." She says
"Hahaha I won't Tilly." Chara says hugging Tilly too
Leo says goodbye next.
"Have fun in England, it's fun." He says
"Thanks Leo, have fun in America, it's fun." I say
He laughs, we hug. Then Mom and Dad say goodbye to me.
"Goodbye Max, good luck in England, I'm sure you'll love it. You too Charlise." Mom says
"Thanks Mom." I say
"Thank you Mrs. Mills." Chara says
I hug Mom and more of my tears make a break for it. I quickly wipe them, Dad says goodbye next.
"Good luck son. You'll do great." He says smiling
We hug. Once everyone has said goodbye it's mine and Harvey's turn. We turn to face each other.
"Good luck Max." He says
"You too." I say
We hug and lots of my tears start flowing along with Harvey's. We break away and I wipe my tears. We stand there for a minute silently.
"Okay well I guess you guys should get to your gates. Good luck." Mom says
We all nod, we begin walking away from our families, it's sad. We part ways with Harvey as he goes to his gate and me and Chara go to ours.
"New chapter." She says
"New chapter." I say
