DANNI P.O.V.
“Am I interrupting something,” I asked a little shakily.
Everybody turned to me as if a bomb had dropped. I think the new guy and Bradie turned to Aunt May.
“No darling, these kids are like my own, Andy this is Danni,” she said and I shook Andy’s hand.
“Aunty May,” I said. “Do you mind if I go for a walk? You know, I need a clear head.” I held it together.
“Darling, you can do what ever you want. Bradie can give you a tour. Oh and baby, you can just call me May,”
May looked too young to be a sibling of mums. She was roughly in her middle twenties. She looked so fit and healthy. Andy looked like he could do with more tender loving care and Bradie, he had an awesome name and he looked very friendly.
“Sure,” pipped in Bradie.
“Did you want to change out of your school uniform first?” asked May.
“Oh yeah,” I gave off a weak smile. I jumped up the stairs and went to my bedroom, leaving the door slightly ajar.
“Andy, why didn’t you tell Bradie where I was, did I not say emergency!?” said May.
“I did, but I just told him then when he asked,” Retorted Andy.
“Yeah, emergency Andy, Emergency,” Bradie said hard.
“Look guys, I know but my main focus is on Danni now, you have to understand that all I want now is for her to get better, speaking of the devil where is Shaun?” asked may.
I put on a jumper and jeans and went down the stairs, Bradie looked in my direction, keen as chips.
“Shaun, well he’ll be around somewhere, probably doing detention again,” Andy said in the slightest bit of glean.
“Danni, do you need any money?” asked May.
“My shout!” said Bradie.
“I’m coming now!” said Andy.
“No buddy, me and you need a chat!” said May shooting a look in Andy’s direction.
“What but it's Bradie’s shout!” said Andy.
“No chat, next time!” Said May.
“We’re off!” said Bradie, finally getting a word in.
“Stay Safe,” said May.
We left Andy and May chatting in the kitchen while Bradie jumped the fence. I looked at him running up the path and back again with a pair of thongs.
“Sorry, I just had to get shoes,” he said awkwardly.
I laughed a little. Poor guy he must have been close to May to give me a tour. And by the way he acts around her, she must be his Idol.
“So how do you know May?” I asked.
“When she moved here about five years ago, she has been the best thing to ever come to this town!” he said.
We walked down a deserted street. Bradie opened the gate and motioned for me to go through, I let of another giggle, like May had said and he was such a character!
