Danni’s P.O.V.
I watched them play as a band, they were actually pretty good. I must admit but they were going to go far, the way they worked together, the way they communicated as a band was amazing. Seeing them as normal friends, then bam, into band practise mode, they were pretty good performers. After the song had finished they played another song. From the minute I heard it I fell in love with it.
This incentive represents this dimly lit room, just a minute in. my heart beat beat, climbs in sync, captivates me as you shed your skin. Princess, why you so contagious with every single breath and every single step.
After they stopped and re-grouped about their new song I started to sing it. Shaun and Andy looked at me. Bradie had his mouth open in shock. I blushed and automatically stopped singing.
“No keep singing, you’ve just given me an idea,” said Shaun.
I shook my head.
“Dude, she’s perfect for our duo! She has the voice to suit,” Said Andy.
“Can you sing this for me shadows on the wall who mock me, make a false sense of security,” Said Shaun
“Shadows on the wall who mock me make a false sense of security,” I sang quietly.
“Wow! Now can you do it louder with Andy?” asked Shaun.
“Shadow’s on the wall who mock me, make a false sense of security,” we both sang.
Shaun and Bradie both looked at each other, both had a click in their eye.
“We have to show May, this is amazing! But first we must record it!” Said Shaun.
Shaun got out a tape and put it into a recorder. He gave me a lyric sheet with the words . It was entitled “The back of my head”
Bradie stepped around from his drum kit and came to a keyboard. He plugged it in and stood there waiting.
“Ok, so if you could sing from that part after the back of your head with Andy, then I come in. so you start where it says shadow’s on the wall, got it?” asked Shaun.
“I think so, but could we go through it cause I’m not sure about the pitch yet?” I asked.
“Sure!” said Andy
Bradie started going away on the keyboard in a tune that was like a lullaby. Then I heard Andy come in and I knew that I had to concentrate.
“Shadow’s” Andy sung then we started to sing.
Shadows on the wall who mock me make a false sense of security, I think of deep thoughts and I try to come from my lonely heart to you, but the days are passing and the fire is dead, so we keep it all here in the back of your head
Then Shaun came in.
Are you out there, are you anywhere, just say goodbye, just like in my nightmare, are you lost without me, are you better off dead, so we keep it all here in the back of my head.
Bradie killed the keyboard and Shaun and Andy looked at each other, silent communication. I put down the lyric sheet and went over to Bradie, he had a grin from ear to ear.
“Whoa, you are an amazing singer!” Bradie Said.
“Not really, but you’re amazing! You are so talented Bradie, I can see in future that you are going to go far!”
“I hope so,” I gave him a big hug.
“You two, we have to record it now. This is gold!” Said Shaun.
Bradie went back to the keys and started it up again, Andy and Shaun put a microphone in front of me and they both shared the other one.
“Don’t hold back!” Andy said; looking towards me and winked in my general direction.
Shaun hit the record button and it started. We did the same as last time. I let my voice rip and I saw Bradie’s eye light up. Shaun gave me a double thumbs up and then he sang his part. Andy stood there amazed. I felt so stupid. I was blushing like mad. Then Bradie killed the keyboard and he hit stop on the recording. Both Andy and Shaun started to clap and Bradie had his hands on his head, his eyes wide.
“For such a skinny girl, you have a powerful voice!” Said Andy.
I sat down because I started to get a little light headed. Bradie came over with a water bottle from the basement fridge.
