Chapter 27~ Dreaming Part 2.

DANNI P.O.V.

Somebody picked me off the cold, sandy, rocky groin. My eyes still streaming with tears, my fingers still red from climbing up the rocks. We disappeared back into Budgewoi, I was carried back into May’s house and locked up into a cell. Why would may have a prison cell in her house? I tried to see the person that carried me off but I couldn’t. I looked around the cell. May was in the corner she was in her Peter Alexander pjamas, her eyes looking tired and weary.

“May?” I called.

She looked at me and then back down, her face completely out of it. I took her face in my hands and made her look directly in my eyes.

“May, what is going on?” I asked.

She shuffled a bit and then councillor Brenda appeared outside of the cell.

“May has been telling you all lies!” Brenda shouted.

She threw a ball at May who just sat there and took it.

“Leave her alone! You said it was better if I lived with May, she has helped me so much. How could you treat her like this?” I shouted through the bars.

Brenda left the house and then there was silence. May was sitting there still. Her face so hard to read. Her makeup was smudged and she looked like a person that had just been human trafficked. Mum came to the cell with Key’s and opened the door, her face a little worried, every so often she would look around.

“c’mon Danni, let’s go. I’m taking you back home!”

I looked at May, she wasn’t even looking at mum or that she had even just opened the door to let us free.

“Not without May,” I said.

“May’s staying here, we’re going back to Perth,” Mum said trying to pull me away from May.

“No Mum, I’m staying here, with May and Bradie and the rest of the people here!” I tried to hold onto May.

“Bradie? Oh that boy that you like to frolic about with, the one that will have you knocked up and the one that is pashing that girl over there?” Mum sneered evilly.

I looked over to where she was pointing to, that girl over there was me. So what there was two of me now? The other me collapsed in his arms. I rushed over there to see what happened. The other me turned to ash, I was gone and Bradie was crying.

“Bradie?” I asked.

He looked up to me. His face was neutral just like May. Maybe I was invisible.

“Will somebody answer me?” I screamed in frustration. That’s when Brenda came over, her face full of rage. She pushed me and I fell back onto Andy, he grabbed my arms and tied my wrists together. I tried to kick. Shaun came from around the cell and tied my legs together. Bradie carried me up to my room in May’s house and left me there. I tried to kick and scream but his hand covered my mouth, I bit his hand as hard as I could, I tried to lick him but he was still invincible. Everything blurred away and then I saw a blinding light. Was I rescued, was I saved? What nightmare could I end up in now?
