Chapter 29~ My Bradie

DANNI P.O.V.

“Bradie wait!” I said as Shaun and Andy left the room.

It was really good to see everybody there, I couldn’t believe that my parents were here, after all I was an only child and I was their everything. Everybody had left the room while Bradie stood to the right of me waiting.

“Thank you so much,” I said as I patted the bed next to me.

“No problemo,”

“Oh and Bradie, I love you!” I tried to sit up properly but I was constricted by wires.

Argh, I really couldn’t wait to get out of here. It was practically my second home. I had only been in here 3 days ago.

“There’s something I’ve been meaning to ask,” Bradie said as he scratched his head, looking for the right words.

“I believe in love at first sight and when I first saw you, you were like an angel. I instantly fell in love. I loved everything about you, I love how you stood up to Andy and Shaun when I just take all the crap. What I’m trying to say Danni is that will you be my girlfriend?”

For the first time in my life I was actually speechless, my heart started to speed up, you could hear my heart accelerating on the monitor. Oh my gosh Danni, just say yes, just say yes. I couldn’t bring my lips to say it.

“Yes,” I said and he hugged me. Our lips entwined, making me want more. Andy and Shaun came in with their eyes wild. Poor Bradie, he was going to cop a lot of shit for this!

“Ok, I have to go now, bye beautiful!” and he kissed me on the forehead and headed out of the door. I watched him go down the corridor, coping punches from Andy. I looked around my room, a bunch of flowers, cards and everything was perfect. Doctor Walker came in, he checked my monitor and sighed.

“So Danni, how do you feel?” he asked.

“Fine,” I answered automatically. “Thank you Dr. Walker,”

“No problem, but you are very lucky to be alive. Any chest pains?” he asked me.

“No,”

He tilted up my bed by the buzzer and got his stethoscope out and listened to my heat beat. He had a look at my skin, he took of the bandage and checked the stitching.

“Well there is no infection, a healthy heartbeat and you’re going to be just fine!” He tilted my bed back down.

“Squeeze my hand,” he asked and I gave it a good squeeze.

“You’ve got a strong hand there, but another two weeks and then we’ll think about letting you out of hospital.” He said.

“Thank you again,” I said as he left the room. I laid back on the bed and listened to the machines beeping. It was past 10 at night and so I went to sleep.
