Chapter 13~ Lift?

DANNI P.O.V.

I got up and had a shower. I was lucky because this room had its own bathroom. I put on some clothes and I was ready for the day. I straightened my hair and curled it at the front. I had a bit more colour in my face today and I had a slight rose tinge in my cheek, I was really excited to be going to school. I went down and May had a load of paperwork in her hand.

“So you just need to chose your classes, then sign a form saying that you will not misuse the internet and then you should be ready for your interview.” Asked May, then she handed me the paperwork.

I looked at the sheet, there were so many classes, I decided to go with English, French (because I had been learning it for 4 years now), Maths, Drama, Food and Nutrition and geography. All courses that would get me into university. May came and had a look at the choice.

“Ah, vous voulez apprendre le français?” Asked May.

“Oui, J’adore le francais. J’apprendre depuis annee huit!” I replied.

“Tres bien!” Said May.

I signed the last sheet of paper and filled in all of my details. I gave the sheet back to May who just put the paper work into a file.

“I’m just going to get ready. Oh and by the way I know that somebody can drive. Look at the set of keys on the bench; it has a pink tag on them.”

I went into the kitchen and found a set of keys, next to it a note. I read it out loud.

Dear Baby Girl Danni,

I thought that this would put a spark in your day. I’m so proud of you, you’re doing so well. So take the keys and head out into the garage, your new baby awaits!

I looked out into the garage, next to May’s car there was a brand new silver one. I went out of the garage, sure enough it was a brand spanking new car with the ‘P’ plates already put it. I looked at the make, A BMW. May must have spent a fortune on it! It had leather seats, there were wooden door frames. I ran back inside and ran straight up to May’s room.  I found her in the bathroom still putting her makeup on, I gave her the biggest hug ever!

“Thank you so much May!” I said, unable to control my happiness.

“Haha, it’s just a bribe hoping that you will stay!” She said.

“I actually like it here, it’s a good little town,” I said automatically.

“That’s good, you’re driving today though!” May said.

May put her makeup into her bag and turned around, she looked amazing, she had a black pencil skirt on, a navy blue frilled top on and her hair pulled back so smoothly, nothing looked out of place. She had her black flats on, she made me look undressed with my black formal pants and top.

“May, you look amazing!” I said.

“Thank you honey, now have you got everything?” She asked.

“Wait no. I need to grab my glasses,” I went out of her room and back up the stairs to mine. I found my glasses in their case in my last suitcase which I had not unpacked yet. I went down the stairs and grabbed my keys and hoped into my car and waited for May to lock up the house. May opened the garage door and gave me a spare remote. I reversed as carefully as I could, I didn’t want to make a scratch on the car. I pulled out of the driveway and I saw Bradie sitting on the porch, his bag in hand and looking glum. I wound my window down and called out to him.

“Bradie, do you want a lift?” I asked. May now leaning over to see him.

His head snapped up. Then Andy came out.

“Do both of you want a lift?” I called out. Andy looked at me. His eyes were suspicious.

“Where are you going?” Asked Bradie.

“School!” I shouted back.

“Yes!” Shouted Andy. He jumped the fence, his uniform still half messed up. His tie hung loosely around his neck. Bradie still sat on the porch thinking. Then he got his bag and came over the fence.
