Chapter 22~ Collapsed

BRADIE P.O.V.

I went to form class and waited for Shaun to get his butt in here. That’s when Danni walked in the door. She sat next to me. Shaun came in and looked disappointed. He dragged a chair and desk next to Danni’s.

“What’s up?” Asked Shaun, focusing on Danni.

“The roof,” Danni answered back flatly

That was the end of conversation. I slumped back into my chair and I had a text from somebody. Doing my best to hide it, I read it. It was from May.

Look after Danni 4 me.

That’s when the teacher walked into the room. She eyed me with the phone.

“Mr. Webb, hand that phone up immediately and go and see Mr Kemp.”

I went to hand up the phone when Danni spoke up.

“Sorry miss, but it’s actually my phone! I have permission to use it from Mr Kemp and I’m sure he has informed all my teachers about it,” Danni said so sweetly.

All the students in the class looked at Danni and then back at the teacher. Who I still didn’t know her name.

“Ah he did, but your phone is for personal use only Miss Lale. But for now I’ll let this one pass.”

Danni pulled my phone out of my hand and stuck it in her pencil case. Her phone right next to her mine. I think I let out a breath of air. That one was a close one. But Danni had permission to use hers? Lucky. She saved my butt from coping another hiding from Mr Kemp, another note that had to get signed by parents and that’s not the awkward part. But knowing a spraying from Andy and Shaun about it would happen. The rest of the day went away in a blur and it was the end of the final class. Music. I played the drums for most of it. I played my beat that I thought that was pretty awesome and then the bell rang. I collected my book and headed out to the car to meet the rest of the gang. Kids were gathered around the car. I came and had a look. Danni had collapsed. I picked her up put her in the back seat with Andy. He nursed her while I got in the drivers side and Shaun got into shot gun. I drove straight to the hospital, I hoped that I didn’t get pulled up by the police because I left my wallet at home and my licence was inside it. I also wasn’t on my second phase “P” plates either. I carried her into the emergency room. I tried to remain calm.

“Andy,” I said in my calm voice. “Call May, tell her what happened.”

They took Danni off and I tried to go with her. I was made to wait while they shouted out medical terms. I saw Danni’s doctor take her into a room. I wanted to go and chase after her but then Shaun held me back. He made me sit on the waiting chairs.

That’s when May came charging through the doors. She demanded the full story. I let Shaun and Andy tell her because I wasn’t there when she collapsed.
