Chapter 10

"Now, go to sleep." Betty said

"I don't wanna sleeeeeppp." Mel complained while rubbing her eyes.

"You have to get rest."

"What if I dont want to?" Mel said in a childish voice.

"Come onnnn. Melissa Mikaelson! Bed time!" Betty said.

"Yes, sir!" Mel said and went under the blankets. Betty went to walk over to the door. "Can you stay?" She said with a sleepy voice. "I don't wanna be alone."

Betty looked back at her and gave a faint smile. "Sure." she walked back to her and laid next to her on the bed.

"Goodnight, Betty."

"Goodnight, Mel."

[Couple hours later]

A couple hours later Kai went to his and Mel's bedroom. He walked in and smiled when he saw Betty and Mel sleeping. He went closer and tapped Betty's shoulder. "Betty?" He said softly and whispering.

"Mhmm"

"Betty you can go at Klaus's room, now." He said and he got no reply.

Klaus walked in. "Don't wake her up, I'll take her." He whispered and walked up to Betty and smiled when he saw her sleeping peacefully. Then she snored.

"Very romantic." Kai commented amd Klaus chuckled quietly. "Don't worry she lovee you,too."

Klaus looked at Kai. "How do you know?"

"I know Betty as long as I know Mel. Well Maybe a year less or something but she is my best friend and I can notice that she's happier around you. She loves you, Klaus. She always have. She never stopped loving you."

Klaus looked at Kai and gave him a 'thanks' look and Kai nodded smiling. Then Klaus picked Betty up bridal style and walked out the room. Kai changed into his pyjamas and then went to bed. He stared at Mel and then kissed her cheek.

"Goodnight and sweet dreams, Mel." Kai said to Mel even though he knew she couldn't hear him. In a few minutes he had fallen asleep.

A few hours later both Betty and Melissa shot up from their sleep which made both Kai and Klaus wake up, too. Both were crying their eyed out.

"What is it? What happened?" Klaus and Kai asked their girls.

"K-Klaus," Betty said while crying. Klaus took her in a hug to comfort her and calm her down. Betty pulled away. "I g-gotta see, I g-gotta k-know if she's okay."

"Who are you talking about?" Klaus asked worried and looker at her eyes,

"Mel."

At the same time, in Kai's and Mel's bedroom.

"Hey, hey look at me," kai said and put his hands on Mel's cheeks, wiping the tears of her face. "It's okay, shh, it's okay, it was just a dream."

"W-where's B-Betty?" Mel said without stopping crying.

"She's with Klaus, she's okay-"

"I gotta see her, I gotta see if she's okay." She said and stood up quickly and went out the door to the hallway.

Betty did the same and Klaus and Kai followed them.

"Mel," "Betty," both of them said simultaneously. They were still crying but a smile appeared on their faces when they saw that both of them were okay. They then ran to eachother and hugged.

"I saw I lost you," Mel said while hugging Betty.

"And I saw Esther killing you and the baby." Betty said holding Mel more and more tight.

Mel pulled away. "Well, we're both okay." She said smiling and nodded through the tears.

"I love you so much." Betty said looking at her best friend.

"I love you too." Mel replied and they hugged again. They pulled away and just stared at eachother. "Betty.." Mel said worried as she saw blood running down Betty's nose.

"Shit," Betty said as she wiped it away but there was more. When Mel saw the blood she felt like everything was spinning around. The more she looker at the blood the more pale she had got. "Mel are you okay?" Betty said ignoring her bleeding nose. "Something's wrong." Betty shouted as turned to look at Klaus and then at Kai.

Kai ran to them and Klaus vamp sped. Kai caught Mel right before she could fell to the floor. Her eyes had all turned white.

"No, no, no, you're not leaving, you're gonna stay with me do you hear me?" Kai said as he tried a spell to keep alive.

Betty looked at them and then grabbed Mel's wrists, giving her power to her to make her strong enough to survive. But Betty's was turning human, too. Which meant she hadn't got limitless power. When she lost a lot of power her nose started blending again and she started coughing.

Klaus looked at both his sister and love of his life and knew that the right thing to do was to stop Betty. "That's enough, Betty." But Betty didn't listen. She kept coughing and then after a couple coughs she coughed blood, too. "Betty stop! BETTY!" Klaus shouted and grabbed Betty back so she would stop holding Mel's hands.

"Let me help her! Let me remind you that whatever happens to her happens to me too. If she dies, I die too!" Betty reminded him. "So LET ME help her!"

Klaus left Betty and she went back and grabbed Mel's wrist but she couldn't help anymore. The moment she touched Mel, her eyes turned to normal. "Mel?"

Mel looked at Betty and started cloding her eyes slowly until she fainted. Kai caught her before she could touch the floor and picked her up. He looked at her sad and worried. He took her hair out of her face so he could see her face and tried to hold his tears back.

Betty stared at them and turned to look at Klaus. "Klaus-" she said and turned unconscious. Klaus caught her and then looked at Kai. They both walked in to the guest's room and placed them in the bed. Klaus wiped away the blood that Betty had in her nose. He sighed and then looked back at Kai who was holding Mel's hand as he stared at her so worried. Klaus moved over to him.

"It's gonna be okay." Klaus comforted him. "Even if something went wrong we will fix it. If I've learnt something from all these years of my existence is that you should never give up." Klaus whispered to Kai. Kai nodded and then they both looked at the two unconscious girls.

Betty meant the world to Klaus and Melissa meant the world to Kai. They both wouldn't be the same without them.

"You should go get some rest." Klaus said to Kai. They both walked out and went to their rooms.

Kai went to his and Mel's room. He laid onto the bed but he felt like something was missing. He couldn't sleep without Melissa by his side. He always watched her sleep before he did. It calmed him down. He switched their pillows, so he had hers. Since she wasn't there (for hopefully only that night) she wanted at least to have her smell.

Klaus walked into his room remembering all the memories of his and Betty. He chuckled at the funny ones and felt bad about the sad ones. And that's how he fell asleep. He fell asleep while thinking of her. His first love who was the love of his immortal life.
