Chapter 43

~a few months later~

Everyone was sad but it the loss of Mel hit Kai and Betty the most.

Kai never really was home. He left after the funeral. He was searching for a way to bring Mel back but of course he called Betty everyday to check on the baby.

Betty actually wanted to go with Kai but Klaus didn't let her because it would put her and the child in danger. The first days she didn't even eat anything but then Klaus reminded her that she has to for the baby.

Klaus tried his best to bring happy Betty back but it was hard. He always supported her with everything amd looked out for her even more now.

Kol was everyday out and drinking. Always trying to forget Mel and how she became really important to him.

Rebekah and Stiles went on a world tour. They already visited Rome, Paris, Berlin and many more cities to distract themselves from Mel's death.

Scott's pack went back to their own town. Nobody knew where Isaac was because he left on the day Mel died and never called anyone.

Semi and Barry sometimes visited Betty and tried to lighten up her mood. Semi even came without Barry and binge-watched tv shows with her for distraction.

Betty was laying in bed and sleeping. She was having nightmares of the day that Mel died. She had those nightmares pretty often but never told anyone.

She woke up screaming and sweating again and noticed how quite it was in the house.

She looked in the entire house but no one was there.

"Hellooooo? Anybody heree?", she shouted through the house.

When she went to the kitchen she saw Kol lying on the ground. He was dead, temporarely.

So she grabbed a wooden stake and quitely searched if anybody was there.

Suddenly someone closed her mouth. She staked that person and turned to see who it was.

"You. You dare to come here!"", she yelled at Marcel and and was ready to kill him.
"I came to check on you. And you know I'm unkillable, so don't even try.", he told her.
"I can snap your neck and torture you and make you want to die.", she said murderous.
"Sure, love. Whatever you say. How are you? Are you feeling better?", he asked concerned.
"Oh please, don't act like you care.", she said.
"But I do care. I don't want you getting hurt.", he told her.
"Well, too late. You hurt me already. You killed Mel!", she yelled at him.
"She would've died anyway.
I made her desth painless. You should thank me and not threaten me!", he said.
"We could've found a way to heal her!", she screamed
"There was no way! Accept it already. She is dead and not coming back!", he told her.
"I will never accept it! If you really loved me, you would help me to find a way to bring her back!", she said

"There is a way... but it's too risky!", he said.
"What is it? Tell me!", she demanded and walked towards him.
"I-"

Right when he wanted to say something Klaus snapped his neck.

"What are you doing?! He was gonna tell me how to bring Mel back!!", she shouted at him.
"And you still believe a word he says? Are you really that stupid?", he shouted at her back.
"Stupid... that's what I am right now, sure.", she said and turned her back to him to walk away.
"Wait, I didn't mean it like th-"
"Save it. Just leave me alone.", she said
and went to Mel's room.

She looked at the pictures of her, Mel, Kai and Klaus.

Tears started rolling down her face.
She missed Mel. She missed her so much.

"I'm sorry about what I said. You know that I didn't mean that.", Klaus apologized and hugged her from behind.
"I know, I'm sorry for always screwing up everything.", she said.
"You're not screwing up anything. Marcellus is the one that is messing around with us!", he said full of hatred.

Suddenly Betty started to feel pain in her stomach and slowly sat down while holding her belly, that was already growing.

"K-Klaus. I-I don't feel good.", she said full of pain.
"Is it the baby?", he asked in panick.
"I-I think so.", she said.

He took her in bridesmaids style and wamted to bring her to a hospital but Marcel popped up before him.

"A hospital won't help. Put her on that table. I'm calling Davina!", he said and immediately called her.

Klaus did what he said and in a few minutes Davina was already there.

"What happend??", she asked.
"I don't know. She suddenly felt this pain and sat down.", he said nervous.

Betty was already unconscious and told Marcel and Klaus to leave and bring her some candles and other things.

While they searched for the things she checked if the baby was even alive and looked if she was bleeding.

"Here is everything you need. Is she okay? Are they okay?", Klaus asked concerned.
"I need you two to go out. I need to be calm and no distractions!", she told them.
"I'm not leaving you with her! Last time we left you alone, Mel died!", he said.
"This is Betty, not Mel. I know that Marcel cares about her and she has a child in her. I'm not a monster.", she said and he went out with Marcel unwillingly.

If anything happens to her, I will make you suffer and-"
"You should call Kai. He needs to be here.", Marcel interruped him.
"He won't be here in time. He is hours away.", Klaus told him.
"No, he's not. I told him to come here today. That's why I visited Betty. We can see what gender the baby is today.", he told him.

Klaus looked at him suspiciously but then called Kai and he was really there in 5 minutes.
What happened? Why are you teo outside?", Kai asked.
"Something happened to Betty. But the baby and her are okay now", Klaus told him after they hugged.
"I wanted you tell you guys something...", Marcel started.

Kai and Klaus shared a look and then looked at Marcel.

"There is a way to bring Melissa back. But it's risky.", he said
"What is it?", Kai asked curiously.
"One of Melissa's bloodline has to die, so that she can come back. Since I guess, no one of the Mikaelson's would want to die, the only other option is the baby. Melissa's child for Melissa.", he told them.
