Chapter 17

It was already night when they arrived where Betty wanted to go. She snapped Mel's neck all the times she had woken up.

"Where are we?", Mel asked as Betty parked the car.
"You'll see. Come one, get out of the car.", Betty said smiling.

Mel looked around while she got out of the car. Everything seemed so familiar to her.

"Are we in-"
"Yes. Mystic Falls. Home sweeet home.", she interrupted her.

Mel slowly tried to take her phone out of her pocket but when she realized that her phone is not there, she slightly panicked.

"Trying to find your phone?", Betty asked her.
"Yeah, I think it fell in the car I will just-"
"I threw it out of the window.", Betty told her.
"yOu WHAT?!", she yelled.
"I answered your phone when Bekah called and you know, she asked me all those things like where we would go bla bla bla and then I told them", she said and cought
"That's for you to know and for me to dot dot dot.", she repeated the legendary quote.

Mel sighed. She knew that she couldn't run away because, not only could Betty find her immediately but also she would be hurt and Mel didn't want her to feel alone again and think she left her like Klaus left her once.

"Can we at least go and eat something? I'm hungry.", Mel asked thinking of a plan.
"Yess food!! Let's go to the Mystic Grill!", Betty said smiling about the thought of food.

Mel and Betty were currently sitting at the Mystic Grill and were eating some pizza.

"Mmmhmm I love you so much", Betty said.
"Love you too", Mel answered.
"Umm. I was talking to the food... but I love ya too", Betty laughed.

Mel was playing hurt but then started to laugh right away. They had a good girls talk until Betty had to go the toilet.

Mel immediately compelled a person to give her their phone and called Kai.

K: Hello?
M: Klaus?
K: Mel? Is that you? Are you okay? Where are you guys! We are worried about you! Are you with Betty?
M: Look, I don't have much time. We are in Mystic Falls. Come and get us.

She ended the call and compelled the person to forget what just happened and acted like nothing happened when Betty came back.

"Who were you talking to?", Betty asked as she looked at the person she compelled walking away.
"Oh him? He tried to flirt with me and I compelled him to leave.", she lied.
"Oh, okay.", Betty said.

They both ate their pizza, payed for it and went to a hotel to check in.

"Could you get the bags from the car?", Betty asked Mel.
"Umm sure.", Mel said and Betty gave her the car keys.

Mel took the bags out of the car and thought about just driving away for a moment.

Should she just leave Betty here and go back to her family and her boyfriend?

She then decided not to go and went back to the hotel room.

"When did you pack all those things?", Mel asked as she put the bags down.
"When I went upstairs.", she said.

"Betty...?", Mel asked
"Yes? Ask your question.", Betty answered.
"What happened between you and Klaus? I mean I know that he left you but... you know, why did he leave?", she asked, hoping Betty wouldn't be mad.
"Well..."

*flashback*

It was night.
Betty was waiting for Klaus to come to their secret place.
She wanted to tell him abou the big news. She was pregnant!

"Expecting someone,my dear?", Mikael showed up.
"Um, y-yes. I was waiting for... Rebekah and Melissa.", she lied.
"Lying is not a good thing.", he said as he pulled out a weapon to kill her.

"W-What are you doing?", Betty asked scared.
"I need to make Klaus suffer! And what way better to make him suffer by killing his one true love?", he laughed evil.

Betty slowly stepped back as he came nearer to her.
Suddenly Klaus showed up and was shocked to see Mikael.

"Father?", he said.
"Never call me that again! I am not your father!", he shouted.

Klaus was protectively standing in front of Betty while she just hoped that nothing bad would happened.
At times like this, she wished she knew how to control her powers.

"You are standing AGAINST ME?", Mikael laughed.
"Oh boy, you are not only weak but also stupid!", he provoked him.

Klaus got angrier and angrier until he just couldn't take it anymore and started to fight with Mikael. They were hitting each other until they bled.
Mikael pushed Klaus against a tree and whispered something in his ear. Klaus then widened his eyes and looked at Betty. She was wondering what Mikael had told him. Klaus slowly walked away looking at the ground with guilt.
Mikael then turned to Betty.

"I told you to go Klaus!", he said and turned around only to see that there was no one behind him.
He was so sure he heard a third heartbeat, apart from his and Betty's.
Even though he just turned into a vampire, he knew how things worked.
Then he looked at Betty, who was holding her belly.

"You are...?", he asked.
"Yes, I am. So please don't kill me! Not for me but for my child.", she begged him.
"Let me guess, Klaus is the father of this unborn child.", he said disgusted.
"Yes. Don't you remember what it was like when Esther was pregnant with Freya? Weren't you happy or excited?", she found his soft spot.
"I-I was... But that child shouldn't even be born and be a abnondimation like his father! A coward! He just walked away because I threatened to kill him if he didn't left and look what he did!", he told her.
"You are lying!", she shouted.
"I wish I was, Betty, but I am not lying. Where is your great boyfriend now? Where is he when you need him the most? He just left you and the child!", he tried go bring out her anger towards Klaus.

"I don't care! Please have mercy for me and my child! Please!"

*end of flashback*

"And? What happened after that?", Mel asked.
"He killed the baby.", she said trying not to cry.
"Oh my... Betty, I'm so sorry! I-I didn't know that! Why didn't you tell me this?", Mel said feeling sorry for her.
"I don't know...", she said and whiped away her tears.

"Anyway. Let's watch a movie! How about Harry Potter? We could bingwatch every movie of it!", Betty tried to change the topic.
"No, Betty. This is important. You can't just try to forget it! You need to deal with this! You have to talk to Klaus about it!", Mel said.
"NO! Don't tell him. He already sees me like a broken toy, no need to make him see me more broken.", she said.

Suddenly the door knocked.
