Chapter 35

Kai, Klaus and Betty were shocked when they heard That Melissa is now the queen.

"Cheers to our new queen!", he said amused and raised a glass while putting his other arm around Mel.
"Cheers!", everyone said but Klaus, Kai and Betty.

Kai just looked at her with a sad and hurt look and left.

"Come on, Klaus we have to go after him!", Betty said worried.
"You go. I'm gonna talk to the new King and Queen.", he said as he stepped towards them but Betty held him back.
"Don't. They'll kill you.", she said.
"I am Klaus Mikaelson, I can't be killed.", he answered.
"Yes, you can. Mel has all the white oak stakes. Now come with me, please.", she begged him and he finally agreed.

They went home to see if Kai was maybe there but he was nowhere to be seen.

"I think I know where he is. Wait here.", Betty told him.
"I'm not leaving you alone. Marcel is out there and he could kill you, too.", he said.
"I can protect myself. You need to be here with Bekah, Elijah and Kol. Try to make a plan to get her back.", she told him and left to look for Kai.

She walked to the bridge in the woods because she remembered Kai saying to her that it was a calm and peaceful place where you could think.

"Hey there, lonely boy.", she said and sat down next to him.
"How did you find me here?", he asked.
"I'm a good listener", she answered and smiled.

"We're gonna get her back, Kai. We did it once and we can do it again.", she tried to motivate him.
"That was luck. Now she knows all of our tricks and she is with Marcel...", he said with a sad voice.
"She may be his Queen but he is not her King. She loves you and she knows it. That's why she tries to push you  away. You are her weakness, Kai.", she told him and put her hand on his shoulder to comfort him.
"I'm not so sure of that anymore...
Do you remember when Mel had my phone? I went to her that night and tried to get her feelings back but it didn't really work.", he admitted.
"You have to be her weakness. If it's not you, then who is?", she said.
"I don't know, Betty...", he said hopeless.
"We are not giving up. We will get her back no matter what. I mean, you two are meant to be! And people who are meant to be always find their way back to each other.", she said and smiled.
"Like you and Klaus?", he asked and made her smile brighter.
"I will do everything in my power to get her back, I promise you. Even if I have to die for it.", she told him.
"Don't say that. I don't want you to die because of us. The real Mel wouldn't want that, too.", he said.

"Hello there, dorks.", Kol said.
"Kol? When did you get here?", Betty asked.
"Klaus sent me to follow you and I thought I would join you to ypur talk.", he told her as he sat down next to her.
"Welcome to club sad life", Kai said and sighed.
"No! Welcome to club We will find Mel", she corrected him.

As Kai and Betty talked about some emotional stuff, Kai thought of a new plan to get Mel.

"Wait guys.", Kol said and concentrated.
"What is it?", Betty whispered as if she was on a secret mission.
"Why are you whispering?", Kai asked her.
"Pshhhhhhh", she shushed and put a finger on her mouth to show him that he should be quiet.

Kai looked at her as if she was crazy but then remembered that she is crazy and looked at Kol.
"Someone is here.", Kol said and looked around.

"If that isn't the typical- Oh, I expected Klaus to be here, not Kol.", Marcel said and gave him a judgy look.
"What do you want?", Betty asked him annoyed and stood up.
"You know what I wanted. If you stayed you could have been Queen of New Orleans now.", he told her.
"I don't want to be Queen. Not by your side and neither does Mel. She's just using you and you know it.", she said.
"Yeah, sure. It's always been Klaus for you. I don't even know what you see in him. He's awful.", Marcel said.
"Now tell me what you really want.", Betty said.
"Why do i have to want something? Can't I just come to see how you all are? How is Rebekah? I heard she is with Stiles now. Good for her. She always wanted to be human and now she got one.", he talked about his ex.

Kol wasn't even listening anymore and Kai was just giving him death stares.

"That's it! I can't take it anymore!", Kai said and started to say a spell.

Marcel started bleeding from his chest and screamed because of the pain.

"KAI! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?", Betty shouted.
"Ripping his heart out.", he said and went back to psycho Kai.
"If you kill m-me, Melissa is g-going to d-die!", he yelled and Kai stopped the spell.
"You dare to threaten me nOW?!", he said and walked towards him.

While Kai and Marcel were fighting Betty called Mel.
"Mel, Marcel is gonna kill Kai!", she cried through the phone.
"I would believe you if you hadn't tried it already. Also, you can handle them yourself. I saw what you're capable of.", she said calmly and ended the phonecall.

Betty told them to stop but they didn't listen to her, so she screamed. They both held their ears closed and were paying attention to her now.

"Thanks for your attention. Now, stop fighting or I have to fight you.", Betty told them.
"Wait where is Ko-"

Marcel was interrupted by Kol who snapped his neck.

"I knew this would work, good job, Kol!", she said and was proud of her plan.
"Wait you guys planned this?", Kai asked confused
"Yeah. Now, you both go and lock him up. I'll try my best to get Mel back.", Betty told them and left.

"Knock knock.", Betty said as she stepped into Mel's new room.
"Oh, look at that. I thought you'd bring Kai.", she said.
"Hmm no. Why? Disappointed?", Betty asked.
"Sure. What do you want here, Betty? You came here to take my throne? As I see the King is gone.", she said.
"I don't want your throne. I want you back. The real you.", Betty told her.
"This is the real me now.", she answered.
"Look, Mel. We've been through a lot. We're gonna get through this, too.", Betty said as she held her hand.
"Oh I see. You're trying to get me back with those sentimental and meaningful words, just like you did with Klaus.", Mel recognised her methode.
"What's the point of you having your humanity off? You can come back to New Orleans. You can turn it on again.", she ignored what Mel said.

"I have to tell you something. I kept this as a secret for a while because I didn't know how to say it and I was unsure.", Betty said and had tears in her eyes.
"Ugh, are you trying to get me with your acting skills now? Not working, honey.", Mel said not convinced at all.
"I'm not immortal anymore.", Betty confessed.
"What?", Mel asked shocked.
"I-I don't know how it happened, I think when I helped the banshee....
She was dying and I gave her a little of my power but it turns out it wasn't that little.", the banshee explained.
