"Come on my lovely children, time to go to your dads house." You called up to your 16 year old Elliot and your 3 year old Ava. You heard feet come rushing down the stairs and within seconds they were both at the bottom. Ava was clung onto Elliot's hip as she had always adored the affection she got from her big brother.
"Ready to go soldier?" You grinned reaching up and shook your fingers your teenagers hair.
"Seriously mom, Ava's the kid not me." He groaned. All you did was laugh as he followed you to your car. Ever since you and Chance broke up, Elliot had matured a lot. He was constantly helping you out with your daughter and doing all the chores he'd used to never want to do. Once he had double checked she was strapped in, he walked around the car and sat in the front with you.
"Mom I wanna talk to you, about this whole two separate house situation." Elliot told you once you were on the road.
"Go ahead babe." You kept it together, you couldn't let your son know how upset talking about the situation was to you.
"I love dad I really do, and I love that he lives with Uncle Anthony and his kids, but it's just not the same anymore. And I know I'm not one to say this but you guys need to get back together." He sighed in defeat. You took a deep breath in.
"El, listen, every night ended up in such a bad argument. I remember the look of fear on your face with the final fight and honestly nothing broke me more. I will always love your dad, it's just not healthy to continue our so called relationship."
"I just don't like it." Elliot rested his head on the side of the window.
"I know you don't dude, but hey at least we don't have to drive that far." You smiled, but he wasn't really having any of it. You pulled into the driveway and strangely enough, Chance was already sat on the doorstep waiting.
"Ava look where we are." You smiled, taking her out of her booster seat. She threw her arms around you and grinned widely when she saw her dad.
"Daddy!" She squealed. He walked over and took her out of your arms.
"Hello gorgeous." He kissed her chubby cheeks and held her tightly.
"Elliot what's wrong?" Chance asked, noticing the upset look on his sons face. You knew exactly what it was and it was killing you.
"Hey dad, nothing is wrong. I'll be inside, come on Ava." Elliot then took Ava from Chance which left you two awkwardly standing in the driveway.
"So." You said looking at the floor.
"How have you been?" Chance asked scratching the back of his neck.
"I was okay, and now I'm falling apart. Elliot is so upset Chance. He hates this, and to be quite clear I do to." You whispered, not wanting to fall apart once again.
"I miss us Y/N, the things we said and did to each other were horrible, and you can take or leave the offer I'm about to propose. We can either start again, as friends and gain our relationship back or you can leave and we never have to talk about getting back together again." He told you. You looked up.
"I like the first idea better."
