Time flew fast, and it was finally the day before the actual evaluation. The instructor told us to rest for tomorrow's match but I never listened, I never did in the first place. With that in mind, I went back to where I usually practice– at the back of the Institute. I'm having mix emotions right now. I can't describe what I feel. It's like I'm excited, but nervous and afraid at the same time, and it doesn't end there. For the past few days, I always feel like I'm being watched. I can't help but to feel anxious. Something's been bothering me and I'm scared that it'll be the reason that I'll fail for tomorrow's evaluation. I shook my head, and went back to focus in training.
I stood still, inhaling, exhaling, inhaling, exhaling. Finally, I was able to calm myself. "Now let's begin." With that, I started casting different spells with ease. I was surprised that I was able to pull them off without failing miserably. "I'm getting a hang of this, this is fun." I chuckled, getting carried away. "Wait." I felt someone was watching me again, I tried shrugging it off, but it was no use, I can't ignore the feeling.
"Who's there?" I asked, obviously talking to nobody, or it seemed that way. "I know you're out there!" I continued, but no response. "Come here and show your face! My dear... food!" I heard my stomach grumbling, guess that thing watching me can wait. Just then, a familiar figure popped out of nowhere.
"Oh shit." the girl exclaimed, trying her best to scamper, but I was able to catch her with my tangling vines. "U-Uhmm. Hiiiii?" The girl looked back at me, while smiling shyly. Wait she looks familiar. Isn't she..
"Sana?" I asked her, she nodded, looking at me with those shy eyes. She tried to escape my roots but I didn't allow her to. I walked closer to her and faced her. "How did you do that? Why are you here? Why do you keep-" I was bombarding her with questions when she cut me off.
"One question at a time, please?" She pleaded, then she sighed. She looked away, trying to avoid my gaze. She mumbled something that I couldn't hear.
"Excuse me what?" I asked her once more time, tightening the grip of the vines holding her.
"Okay okay I'll tell you, I'm sorry." She replied. "I came here from the other building to.... check on you." She spilled, obviously lying. I continued to tighten the grip of the vines and she started to squirm in pain. "O-Ouch stop it! Please!" She pleaded.
"I know you're lying, there's no second building. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice... That's not gonna happen." I glared at her, and I saw her shiver. I guess I'm that scary? Scratch that I'm too cute to be scary.
"Okay you caught me I'm sorry." She replied, now looking at me with those hazel eyes, which were full of sincerity. "I'll tell you the truth. I'm from.. The Chaos." With that, my jaw dropped, and I entered my battle stance. "W-Wait! Don't! I wasn't done explaining. I was tasked to scout on Order. That's all, but I didn't expect my self to bump in to you that time. Honestly, I was always sent to spy on your Institute's plans, but I always find myself following you. I don't know why, but It's always like that." She confessed, again my jaw dropped. I did not expect her to be from the other side.
"H-How can you follow me? I mean, why were you the only one asked to scout our area?" I asked her once more.
"Because I'm the only one capable of doing so, without getting caught." She further explained. "By now I think you know me already, and besides, your friends are like me too." She continued, I was shocked that she knew, but on the contrary, she kept following me, so there's no doubt she'll know.
"So y-you're, a Singularity?" I asked her, looking in to her eyes once more.
She nodded, while showing a small smile on her face. "I never wanted to be one, but I became one anyways." She then, pointed downwards, which made me facepalm. I quickly removed the roots grasping on to her.
