Chapter 4: Singularity

The instructor continued to talk about random stuff, and I can feel my eyes were slowly closing. No I shouldn't sleep, I need to listen, this is important, I'll need this when the war begins. Get your lazy head together Tzuyu! Luckily, the instructor finished. She gave us a 30 minute break. I went outside along with Jeongyeon, Chaeyoung, and Dahyun. We went outside, to a near food stall and ordered pizzas.

"So, I'm curious, Jeongyeon." Chaeyoung blurted out all of a sudden.

"About?"

"Your ability, tell me honestly, you've awaken as well right?" Chaeyoung asked.

"Okay I'll be honest yes, I have awoken, and wait, 'as well?'" Jeongyeon raised one of her eyebrow.

"Mhm, as well, I've awoken too." Chaeyoung smiled sheepishly.

"Prove it." Jeongyeon smirked.

With that I was sent floating, yet again. "Good grief Chaeyoung, stop rubbing it in my face!" I growled in annoyance.

"Mian, Mian~ tehee." And with that she put me down.

"Tch, I'll kill you if you do that again." I decided to ignore them and continued to eat.

"So how did you awaken?" Finally, Dahyun spoke, asking Jeongyeon.

"I don't quite remember, it was so sudden. I was walking outside the border of Order's domain, and I stumble upon Chaos' fleet. I thought I was going to die, because they started to group up on me. One by one, they cast different spells, and I on the receiving end, did nothing but take all the hits. I fell down, with both of my eyes slowly closing. I swore I already felt dead, but something strange happened, as if time was reverted. This time, I looked up, and they were back to the place they were at before they approached me. I was so shock. After that, I felt weak, my legs were trembling, they were running towards me, but one girl behind them smiled, as if she knew what will happen next. Suddenly, I felt my body glimmering, and everything stopped." Jeongyeon paused.

"And?" Dahyun insisted her to continue.

"Time stopped, I quickly ran away, glancing back to the girl who smiled at me. I arrived at the gateway and time started to move once more." She added.

"Wow. That. Was. AWESOME!" Chaeyoung chirped happily.

"No it wasn't idiot, she almost died" I smacked Chaeyoung's head.

"Owww." She held her head.

"Do you still remember anything about the girl?" Dahyun asked again.

"Yeah, she had these bunny teeth, which was pretty cute. She wore a black robe with white details, and it seemed like she was different from the other people she was with. That's all I can remember, everything else is a blur." Jeongyeon explained.

"Oh, could she be?" I asked.

"No, impossible." Dahyun protested.

"We will never know." I retorted.

We finished eating our snack and went back inside the Institute. We could still hear murmurs from other ordians, it was obvious that they were badmouthing Dahyun. I looked to my side and Dahyun was looking down, trying her best to ignore the people talking bad about her. I pat her back and comforted her. We arrived at our chamber and sat at out seats. Minutes after, the instructor entered. She started talking about elements and their special traits.

I trailed off, thinking about the person who killed my parents, How could they do such a thing? Oh right, they're from Chaos, they fear no one, and they are bloodthirsty. Suddenly, the instructor explained something that sparked my interest, she started to talk about Singularities. I looked in front and listened intently, forgetting about my thoughts.

"Okay class, I'm sure you have heard about 'The Prophecy.'" The instructor asked and all the ordians nodded.

"It was said in the prophecy that there were people who are unique to others, they are able to master all the elements in their caucus, with this, they are given one ability, unique to the others, these people are called the Singularities. They are known to excel in manipulating each and every element, unlike normal people who only excel in at least one or two elements. They are named after their uniqueness, being different from the others. It was believed that once nine Singularities awaken, the world will change, and peace will be attained." The instructor explained.

"Furthermore, we never believed in such things because it was impossible. But, we were surprised when the Chaos' forces became stronger. Yes, the Chaos, they were the first to awaken the Singularities. Unfortunately, they have not one, not two, but four Singularities. Not much is known of them, but their code names were Bunny, Squirrel, Penguin, and Racoon. So if you encounter any one of them, run, you stand no chance against them." The instructor added.

I smiled, unintentionally. "Squirrel? That sounds so cute" I mumbled.

"Hey, do you think the girl who saved you is one of them?" Chaeyoung asked, poking Jeongyeon.

"Yeah, I think so too, maybe she's that one with the Bunny codename, since she had those cute bunny teeth." Jeongyeon nodded in agreement. Suddenly a smile crept on her face. She raised her hand, gaining the attention of the instructor.

"Yes Miss Yoo?"

"Ma'am, I'm one of them." The girl smiled sheepishly.

"HAHAHA Nice joke Miss Yoo, that seems imposs-" before she could finish her sentence, Jeongyeon was already in front of her, holding the stick that she was holding first.

"I-I can't believe it, so five out of nine has awaken. We may stand a chance against the Chaos." The instructor blurted out.

"Ma'am! Make that six!" Chaeyoung butted in, making one of the table float. A lot of ordians gasped, they couldn't believe that such a small girl is a Singularity.

"T-Telekinesis? So the Prophecy is true, if that's the case then the next person will awaken soon. It's written in the scroll." The instructor explained.

I wasn't listening to the instructor, she continued to blabber about the Singularities and stuff. I really don't care. I'm excited, soon I'll be in the battlefield, hopefully I can still find those who killed my parents, so I can kill them with my own two hands. The instructor finished the discussion and dismissed us. She told us to prepare ourselves tomorrow because we will be practicing our elemental skills. I walked out, still thinking about that person with the codename of squirrel.

"Squirrel... Just who are you."
