I continued to tread forward. Reaching our domain, I sighed. I'll have to face him again. I fucking hate the overseer. He's the reason to the never ending war. Even my friends despise that guy. Honestly, we're from Chaos, but, We've always believed in peace. What can I say? We're different from the others. We're singularities, we think, we act, we believe differently.
I entered the gate, tall buildings greeted my entrance. Everything was colored black, with red details. Fire burning in different areas, along with uneven earth walls. It was your typical vision of hell. Occasionally, you'll see blasted ice on some corners.
"Ahh home." I said in disgust.
I never considered this place as my home. The authorities were twisted. Fighting was encouraged in our place, they never cared if someone died because of a fight. They believed that only those who can fight heartlessly deserve to live, those with weak hearts are worst that trash.
All my life, I've been hiding, I never wanted to fight. I always believed that I was weak, that I will die sooner or later. I grew up being bullied. One time, I almost died because of one guy who never stopped bullying me. I was lucky Momo protected me that time.
I was a coward, I always wanted to hide, to run away. I was different from my parents, they were brave, and they died for the Chaos. But I, I never wanted to join any type of war, I'd rather rot in my small hole than to fight. But everything changed, I was the first to awaken. To my surprise, I had the ability to turn invisible. Ironic how I always wanted to hide from everyone.
They started praising me, as if I was some sort of god. Soon, they started sending me to the other side. They wanted me to spy on the enemy. I had no choice so I agreed. One time, while I was scouting, I saw a tall girl. She was pretty young, around fourteen? Since then, I've been watching her grow up whenever I had the chance.
One by one, my friends started awakening. The overseer had the plan of launching another war. He wanted to use us. We had no choice, so we agreed. The war was bloody, and I couldn't kill another ordian anymore. I saw a familiar figure from afar, it was the sister of that tall girl I've been constantly watching. She was going to die. With my instincts, I quickly went invisible and killed my fellow chaeon. I gave her a small smile and quickly left.
"Oh Sana! You're back!" Momo shouted from afar.
"Yeah, what did you expect?"
"I thought you died." She smiled sheepishly.
"Shut up."
Momo, she's my bestfriend. She's the only girl I trust, other than the other Singularities. She has saved my life for countless of times now, and I'm thankful I had a friend like her. I've confessed to her that I killed my own blood. She never told it to anyone and comforted me that it was the right thing to do. Yes, she knew about the tall girl I've been talking about.
Four years after, another war was about to erupt. So I was sent to spy on the enemy, yet again. I agreed nonetheless, I haven't seen that girl for almost three years. I had mix emotions for this war. I was walking around their area when I suddenly saw her familiar figure. Without any second thoughts, I quickly followed her. She was training. I sighed, I'll have to face her. She somehow knew I was there. I showed myself and she was shocked, of course, you clumsy squirrel she was just joking. There, I met her properly. Her name was Chou Tzuyu.
Day by day, I started watching her, from their Institute, until she reaches home. Call me a creepy stalker, but whatever, I can't help myself. She changed me somehow. I started becoming cheerful and easygoing towards my fellow singularities. Then something had to show up. It was the so called "True Solitude." I hated that prophecy, I was never fated for the girl I fell for. She was not a Singularity. We are only allowed to bond with another Singularity, except for one, since there were like, nine of us.
The war was inching closer, soon, it was their final evaluation. I watched her fight. She was losing, I couldn't stop myself, so I screamed, cheering for her to win. I was happy knowing she was winning, but suddenly, I felt myself losing consciousness. Without me knowing, I was already on the floor. Everything was a blur after that, all I can remember is that I met Tzuyu on my dream. After that, I woke up, and saw Tzuyu use magma, a combination of two elements that I was only allowed to use. I was bewildered to know she was able to use my element. It was the first time that something like that happened. But luckily, no one locked her up or something like that. I heard the officers shout my name. That was my cue, so I went out and ran away.
"So are you alright? Any bruises?" She asked me.
"Nope, I'm good."
"Did you kill her?" Momo asked again.
"What? No of course not, how about you?" I replied hastily, waiting for her to speak.
"Uhm..." She started blushing.
"You kissed her, didn't you?" I snickered, seeing her red face.
"How did you know?!"
"Duh, you're my bestfriend."
"Alright fine, I did."
"What was her reaction?"
"I don't know, but I felt like she liked it." She replied, shrugging her shoulders.
And yes, I told her about everyone there. One time, I allowed her to join me in spying. She stopped on her tracks when she saw a fairly white girl. That's when she told me she was in love already. She's a really weird one to tell you honestly. She would beg me to let her join. I was a good kid so I did allow her. I'm quite happy to know that she's made progress.
"How about you hmm?" She wriggled her brows, giving me that smug grin.
"What about me?"
"Don't play dumb, I'm talking about her."
"Well, she stopped trying to kill me." I replied her honestly.
"Really?! Why? How?" Momo started bombarding me with questions.
"Geez girl, one question at a time."
"Alright alright, so tell me."
I took a deep breath and told her everything. "So, basically I couldn't kill her. I made her faint. Jihyo took her back to their camp. I saw one of their comrade unconscious so I took that as an excuse to go to their camp." I explained.
"Then I went to where she was held. And there she woke up." I scratched the back of my head. "And uhm, she knew I was there, because of my clumsiness. I was surprise she didn't want to kill me. She knew everything, she discovered the truth between her parents. By then, she started becoming clingy." I added.
"Woah, you're lucky." She smirked.
"Yeah." I replied.
"Also, about Jihyo." I added.
"Hm?" Momo hummed.
"She has awakened."
"WHAT?!" Momo screamed.
I covered her mouth. "Shhh, I have no plans telling the overseer... For now."
"Who has awakened now?" A familiar voice asked.
