Chapter Ten|| A new beginning

{Madeline's POV}

I sat in the main foyer with Ryker as he worked on some papers. I had convinced him to at least leave his office and he does this, I never expected him to bring his work down here! He just looked at me smugly as he gathered his papers and walked past a shocked me. Now here I sat flipping through a magazine about Christian's mates coronation. 

I miss Chris.

"Can we please go do something?" I asked Ryker and he just ignored me and continued scribbling onto his papers. 

"Ryker." I said and he sighed looking up at me. 

"I guess if it's that important to you-" He was cut off by yelling.

Both me and Ryker quickly looked to the stairs. "Turn on channel fight news!" Raven yelled as her friends quickly trailed behind her. 

"Wha-" Ryker started but in a flash Grayson was beside us and grabbed the remote from the table and turned on the TV to channel eight. 

Christian and his mate stood and I eagerly sat up. Was this news on the war? Have we won? Have we lost. Oh god, what if we lost. It just begun!

"I now see why Christian wouldn't meet with me today." Ryker grumbled sitting forward. 

"Good evening. I am here with your queen today to address an issue that has came to my attention. The sectors have been destroyed and many are questioning when they will be back up. The answer is never." My mouth dropped.

"Im ending the PSS system or as most call it, the caste system. I am bringing up new alphas and plan to continue with new packs. People of sectors can stay in the pack they are in now or move to new ones as the others are built. That applies to people in packs too. Feel free to be able to move where you desire. Rogues will be given another chance to earn their spot back into a pack and redeem their name. This is a new beginning." Christian wrapped an arm around his mate and smiled.

"A better beginning then we've previously had. This might come as a shock to you, but it is happening and nothing will be changed. This could be a new change in the war. This could change everything." She said and Christian nodded.

"More news will be given later on. Have a good night." The broadcast was short lived and I looked at Ryker with wide eyes. 

Half the world is going to go up in flames right about now. "Did you know about this?" I asked and Ryker nodded. "We were told to keep it secret. He commanded us alphas. I couldn't break his word." he replied leaning back onto the couch and I looked to Raven. 

"This is amazing." She grinned and Grayson nodded beside her. "This applies to us too, ya know." Grayson added. 

The rest of their crew was silent. I didn't even know what to think. This was the life I knew. How will the world be without the PSS system? 

"Well that's enough thinking for one day. It looks like your head is about to exploded, so you are coming to train." Grayson said pointing at me and my mouth dropped. 

"Why me?" I pouted. 

"Because you can't defend yourself." Literally everyone in the room said including Ryker at the same time. 

"Fine... let me get changed." I mumbled. 

Rude.

"Ow!" I screeched as Grayson swiftly knocked me onto my back. 

"You're embarrassing yourself and the wolf kind." He said motioning me to get back up. I rolled my eyes standing to my feet.
