{Madeline's POV}
After practice everyone went their separate ways. Ryker had a quick meeting but it was soon over. We sat in the room Mason had prepared for us for the stay.
"Octavia seemed to be in a heated discussion with Mason." I said and Ryker looked up from his papers.
"I know... but it doesn't surprise me. It's their nature to be at each other's throats. Their Lycans will constantly fight for dominance. Don't worry about them." I just nodded but coming from a girls point of view, that was not a discussion over power.
"I think I'm going to take a shower and turn in for the night." I told Ryker and he just nodded.
I shook my head grabbing some clothes and walked into the bathroom to change. I feel like i'll never have a connection with Ryker like the other girls do with their mates. We were no normal mating couple, that's for sure.
Stripping, I stepped into the shower as the hot water hit my skin. It was satisfying to feel the warm droplets. For once today I finally felt relaxed.
I was pouring some shampoo into my hands when a strong pain went through my head. I groaned placing my hands against the tiled walls of the shower. The pain stopped and right as I went to stand straight back up it happened again.
I dropped to my knees grabbing my head as more pain throbbed through my head. I wanted to let out a cry of help to Ryker but nothing came. Can he not feel me in pain?!
'You shouldn't doubt yourself, child.' I heard and gasped stumbling backwards until my back hit the wall. Looking around I seen no one.
"W-who are you?" I called out feeling panicked.
'It's not important. What is important though is for you to know your true potential. War is coming and my children have to be ready.' The soft melodic voice spoke as it drifted through my mind.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
'Earlier today you doubted yourself, but in reality the other alpha females found themselves before you did.' The voice spoke again.
"Im... im not special." I was confused.
'Haven't you put it together yet? Why are the alphas finding their mates so sudden with the approaching war? Because each of you play a part in winning this, and my dear Madeline they will not win this war without you.' Tears clouded my eyes as I sat confused.
"I don't know who you are! I don't know what you want me to do!" I practically yelled.
'I can't tell you. You have to figure it out yourself. Your voice... is power. Your movements are indulging...Use them.' I felt even more confused.
There was a banging on the door.
'I have to go. Find yourself Madeline. I sculpted you with my own hands and I made sure to pair you with an alpha for a particular reason. You and the alpha females will bring great things into our worlds.' The voice drifted out and I stared agape at the wall.
"The Moon Goddess." I croaked out.
"Madeline!" Ryker called out from behind the door.
"Im fine! I just slipped and fell!" I lied as I slowly stood.
I thought over her words. My voice? My movements? Realization soon came and my mouth dropped.
"Siren?" When the word left my mouth It felt like something had awoken in me.
"Madeline! We have to go!" I heard and before I could ask why alarms broke out through the house. The war is happening.
"Oh my Goddess." I mumbled stepping out of the bathroom and grabbed a towel quickly drying off and throwing my clothes on.
