{Madeline's POV}
I grinned walking to the front door and pulled it open before a mob of red hair attacked me.
"It's you!" McKenzie squealed and I laughed pushing her off me.
"You're too energetic." I replied smoothing my dress out and she scoffed rolling her eyes and brushing past me looking around.
"His house is amazing." She said and I smiled shutting the door.
"Yeah it is." I replied walking up next to her.
"So, where does this girl's day of ours start?" She asked and I smiled.
"Well, it's nearing lunch. What about grabbing a bite to eat and going from there? Alessia, Ryker's beta, told me there is also a great spa located within the pack." I said and her eyes lit up.
"Okay, I am so down." I laughed.
"I thought you would be. Come, i'll show you to your room for the stay."

"Im living in luxury." She said lying on the huge king size bed of her room causing me to shake my head.
"You're from the royal pack, you live in luxury everyday." I said and she sat up shaking her head.
"Not true. I lived in luxury when you still lived there and I could come to the palace and act like it was my home. Now I'm stuck with Dave in our house all the time. It's quite boring and he loves to talk my ear off." She said with a sigh and I held back a laugh.
"Im sure Christian would let you come visit." I countered and she shook her head.
"Actually, ever since the queen had her children... the place has been very dull. No one was allowed to enter without consent from the king himself. They were and still are very protective over the kids. A week or two after that they got into a huge argument and it spiked nervousness within the pack, but everything seems to be back to normal I guess." My brows furrowed.
"Weird. Christian hasn't told me about anything, yet again he barely speaks to me anymore. I can't blame him. I know how busy and hectic life can now be. It was weird. When my father died I always felt like I had no one. My mom became distant and rarely cared for me, so when Christian took me under his wing, he was like the brother I never had."
"Im sure if you called him he would love to catch up." She replied.
"Maybe, but I know he's busy right now. Anyways, today is about us. Let me go inform Ryker and then we'll be on our way." I stated and she gave me a salute.
"Alrighty, captain."

I walked into Ryker's study only to see him annoyed and on the phone.
"Yeah, yeah... looking forward to it." He replied with fake enthusiasm and ended the call and dropped his head on the desk lightly banging it causing me to laugh.
"What are you doing?" I giggled out walking over to him.
"Trying to kill myself." He mumbled and when he raised his head up I stuck my head under before he could hit the table again.
"Stop that." I mused.
"What are you even going on about?" I added.
"My cousin just informed me that he is coming down from Italy for a visit."
"And that's a bad thing because...?"
"Because he is like me before we met but ten times worse." He said and my eyes widened.
