{Madeline's POV}

The moment I stepped out of the plane, my jaw never left the ground.

It was beautiful here.

"You brought me to Bora Bora?" I remember asking once we headed to the place we were staying.

"Yes, I figured we might as well go all out." He winked and I had giggled like a school girl.

Now I laid on the beach soaking up the sun. It was so nice out here. The breeze was absolutely amazing as well.

We were only going to be here for a couple days and then we were off to another place. I was shocked when Ryker had told me.

"We're just exploring." He had said.

"You looking ravishing." I heard and peered up through my sunglasses at Ryker who had water droplets running down his chest and dripping from his hair.

"Likewise." I mumbled looking him over and a sly grin crossed his face as he took the chair next to me.

"You know, you're going to have to get in the water at some point." He said towel drying his hair.

"There are sharks." I replied closing my eyes.

I am perfectly content lounging in my chair getting some sun.

"Yes, but the ones around here won't harm you. Actually, a lot of people swim with them. Plus, the water is so clear you could see one a ton of feet away. It's nothing to be scared about." He said and I scoffed.

"And that is what you call delusional."

Ryker remained quiet and I was confused when I didn't hear his pesky rebuttal. I was about to open my eyes when I felt his arms snake around me and I let out a screech. He grabbed my sunglasses tossing them on the chair as I thrashed in his arms but he was too strong.

"Ryker! No!" I yelled as he carried me bridal style running towards the water.

"Oh yes." He said and I wrapped my arms around him holding him for dear life. I was not letting go. It's going to take more than that to get me in the shark infested waters.

"Fine." Ryker said once he saw I wasn't going to let go and started to wade out into the water and I was about to have a mental breakdown.

He doens't understand how terrified I am of the ocean.

"See? Not so bad." Ryker mumbled to me as we were waist deep.

My face was in the crook of his neck and I was closing my eyes tightly.

"I don't like this." I mumbled and finally managed to pull my head away and look at him.

"You really hate the beach this much? I thought you were excited?" He asked.

"I was and still am!" I defended, "I just love laying on the beach and getting sun and sipping daiquiris—not swimming in the ocean. I just don't like the ocean." I mumbled.

"It's not that bad. What made you so scared to get in?" He asked curiously.

"When I was little, just a little before my father passed, we went to the beach for a family vacation. I was sitting on the beach next to my mom playing in the sand when I heard screams. I looked up and a guy was being rushed out of the water and blood was pouring everywhere. It was a shark attack. I never had been interested since.

I've also heard other stories about the current taking people under and i've just never... thrived for something like that." I said and didn't realize until I was done talking that I had moved to where my legs were wrapped around Ryker's waist.
