{Madeline's POV}
I followed Ryker to our room and he shut the door behind me.
"I was informed about one of your attackers." He said and my eyes widened.
"Who was he?" I asked and Ryker sighed sitting on the end of the bed.
"William Arkus ring a bell to you?" He asked and shook my head.
"He was the only one we could identify out of the men. He's a rogue, and was banished by Alpha Mason when he let out one of the prisoners kept at the prison."
"He was a guard?" I asked and Ryker nodded.
"But that's all we got. We can't figure out as to why he was with those men and why they were coming after you. Has McKenzie had anymore visions?"
"I don't think so."
"Mads..."
"Yeah?"
"How did your father die?" Ryker asked and my chest tightened.
"He was killed. H-he uh... gambled a lot. My mother scolded him for it and told him one day that would end us. It did." I croaked out.
"Im sorry I shouldn't have asked." He said and I shook my head.
"No, it's okay. Despite the gambling, he was a good father to me and a great husband to my mom. It nearly killed us when we got the news. Someone found his body near a river bank. He was beaten horribly and was stabbed a couple times. It was a silver blade so he couldn't heal properly... and... he died."
"Madeline, Im so sorry."
"It doesn't matter. It was a long time ago." I said shrugging it off and walked over sitting next to him and he pulled me to his side.
"Did they ever catch his killer?" He asked and I shook my head.
"Nope. They didn't even care to really look into it. He was a nobody to them. As I grew older my mother's attention on me lessened and soon she was distant. Christian stepped up and took me under his wing. Christian tried to re-open the case when I spoke out about it, but it was too many years past for them to do anything."
"I was asking because... McKenzie's vision the other day. It was your dad's warning to you both. That this man would come after everyone he loved. What if... what if these people that are after you is from the command of whoever killed your father? It's a stretch but it makes the most sense." My heart couldn't take anymore pain.
I shook my head.
"I don't know, but I don't want to think about it anymore. We can't do anything right now. Might as well wait for their next move." I said standing to my feet.

"Im going to take a quick shower." I told him as I walked towards the closet but he caught my arm tugging me back to him.
"Alright, I have a couple things I need to finish up in my office." He placed a passionate kiss on my lips and pulled back.
"I love you, don't forget that." He said and I smiled nodding.
"I know, Ryker. I love you too."
He nodded and let me go and headed towards the door. I couldn't help but notice this look he had in his eyes. I didn't like it.
I turned to ask him but he was gone.
