{Ryker's POV}
I smiled as I watched the two most important things in my life chase each other around in our living room.
I never thought I would settle down. I never thought I would find the love of my life. I never thought I would get married or have kids. But I did, and I couldn't be more happier.
I wouldn't change a thing. The things we've been through, what we've accomplished together, what we made. It was all for the best.
Her smile lit my day, and his laugh made me complete.
They were my life.
The minute my son was born into this world and his eyes met mine... I knew I was a goner. Whenever he wasn't in my arms I felt empty, as cliche as it sounds.
The pregnancy went very well. We never had problems, and according to Madeline, it was an easy birth... whatever that means. She nearly broke my hand she was squeezing it so tight when everything was happening.
The first time he walked towards me was one of my favorite memories. Hearing him say 'momma' or 'daddy' was heart clinching. Because... he was mine. He was my son, the future alpha.
Alessio Pavesi.
"Tag, you're it!" I heard Alessio yell out and Madeline's laughter bounced off the walls.
"You're just too fast!" She said acting astonished.
"Im strong and fast like daddy!" He said and looked me and I grinned nodding. "Definitely." I told him and he gave Madeline a 'told you' look.
"Oh! I'm sure you are!" She said giggling, scooping him up in her arms attacking his cheek with kisses.
"Gross, mom!" He said scrunching his face up causing us both to chuckle.
"Just wait until you find your mate." She said and he shook his head. "Im an independent man. I do not need a woman." Madeline's eyes widened.
"Where did you hear that?" She asked quickly looking at me and I held my hands up in defense.
"Uncle Dimitri said I should always tell myself that." She let out a small growl.
"I'll kill him." She mumbled and I couldn't help but laugh.
This was almost as funny as when he copied her saying 'shit' and kept saying it over and over again.
"Mom?" Alessio asked softly.
"Yes?"
"Can I have some brownies? I can smell them cooking from here! Regina is cooking her famous ones!" He said referring to the nanny that looks over him when we are both busy, but she stays here and works as a maid most times.
"How can you smell those brownies all the way from in here?" Madeline asked and he pointed to his nose.
"My nose, duh mom." He said matter of factly.
The kid has a good nose, I'll admit that.
"Of course, go on." She said sitting him down and he ran off.
She turned facing me.
"Remind me to have a talk with 'uncle Dimitri' today." She joked and I smiled opening my arms and she walked into them wrapping her arms around me.
"I'm so tired and it's only two in the afternoon." She groaned.
I chuckled.
"Looks like it isn't Alessio that needs a nap." I said and she looked up at me amused.
"I wish." She replied and leaned up pecking my lips.
"We have a meeting in ten." I said and she groaned even more.
"Remind me again why I have to be in there?" She asked.
"So I have something good to look at." I winked and she rolled her eyes playfully.
"Fine, because you are luna and the alpha needs his luna." I said and she nodded.
"That's a more promising statement." She contemplated and I grinned.
I sure was a lucky man.
"I love you." I said randomly and she smiled.
"Aw, I love you too, Ryk."
And that's what keeps me going.
