Chapter Twenty|| Renee Allister

{Madeline's POV}

"Babe." I heard and groaned smothering my face deeper into the comforter.

"Babe." I heard again.

"Five more minutes." I mumbled snuggling into the covers.

"Babe, get up. Renee is awake." I opened one eye and saw Ryker smiling down at me.

"You need to talk to her." He added.

"Do I have to at this exact moment? What time is it?" I asked sighing.

"Yes. It's eight o'clock. Get up." He said pulling back the covers and I groaned and honestly felt like kicking my feet and whining like a kid, but I refrained.

EIGHT O'CLOCK?! IS HE CRAZY?

I slowly got up and trudged towards the closet and changed into some comfortable clothes.

"After you." Ryker said grinning and I just looked at him with apathy and walked out the door. I was still half asleep.

"I need some coffee." I said as we walked down the hall.

"As in you're asking me to fetch you some coffee?" he asked.

"Exactly." I replied earning a chuckle from him.

"Fine, I'll make you some coffee but then we need to head to the hospital." He said and I nodded.

"Sounds good." I replied yawning.

"Better?" Ryker asked as he drove us to the hospital, which was fifteen minutes out from his house.

I took another drink of my coffee and nodded.

"Much." I was finally starting to wake up and realized just how horrible I looked as I glanced in the mirror. My hair was everywhere.

I sat the cup into the cupholder and grabbed a hair tie from my wrist and tied my hair up in a messy bun.

"That'll have to do." I mumbled to myself.

"You know... I just realized how you are not a morning person. Especially with out coffee." He said and I shrugged.

"What can I say? Im a coffee slut." I joked as the hospital came into view.

"You are something else." He said with a grin as we parked.

We got out and headed inside and a doctor showed us the room.

"You just go in. I don't want to intimidate her." He said and I nodded.

"Good idea."

As I entered the room I saw as she stared at the TV before her as nurses checked her vitals.

"Renee?" Her attention flickered from the TV to me and her eyes widened.

"Madeline? What are you doing here?" She asked sitting up a little.

"I could ask you the same thing." I joked and she let out a small laugh.

"I... would rather talk to you alone." She said glancing at the nurses.

"Can you give us the room, please?" I asked and they gave me a small head bow.

"Yes, luna." I smiled watching the retreat and they closed the door behind them.

"Wow... Luna? So you're..."

"Alpha Ryker's mate, yes." I answered pulling a chair up.

"So im guessing he sent you in here to talk to me?" She asked looking down at her hands.
