Chapter Fourteen|| Preparing

{Madeline's POV}

The next day everyone had to get up and head to Mason's Pack for practice and I was giving Ryker the silent treatment. 

I sat in the car next to Ryker silently. There was a driver taking us there. It was a awkward silence. 

"Im sorry for the way I acted last night. I was a dick. I... I'm just stressed and I never have had to deal with any of this before. Telling someone everything I mean. Im adjusting." Ryker says randomly and I set still staring out the window. 

"Really? I just willingly apologized and you just sit there?" He asked and once again I ignored him. 

I felt him place his hand on my thigh and I mentally cursed him for using the bond against me. "Talk to me, please." He said and I sighed. 

"Im pissed! Im pissed because half the time I don't know whether to kiss you or beat you to death." I growled out and he grinned. 

"I've been told that a lot." He joked. "Not helping." I added and he just smirked and shot me a wink. 

"I got you to talk though." He mentioned and I rolled my eyes again shoving his hand off my thigh. "Yeah you cheated." I told him and he laughed. 

"Is someone pouting? At least part of you wants me. Tell your wolf I said hello." He said and I gritted my teeth together. It wasn't just half of me. 

I was soon jerked to his side and let out a screech as he did so. His lips were on mine in seconds. The kiss was heated for a moment before I pulled back quickly. 

"The driver." I mumbled and he laughed. 

"The divider is up, he can't hear us." He said and I scoffed. "And you would know that." I added and fixed my hair relaxing back into my seat. 

"You know I'm a good kisser just admit it." He said and I looked at him annoyed. "What are you... nine?" 

When he leaned back in closer I groaned giving in meeting his lips. I felt him grin into the kiss as he pulled me onto his lap. 

"You're making me being mad at your difficult." I mumbled against his lips. 

"That's the point." He mumbled back.

Soon enough we made it to Mason's pack and Grayson and them met us there. 

We walked out to the field seeing wolves sparing and I grinned at the action. "Don't get too excited, I haven't decided if I'm letting you onto the field yet." Ryker said I pouted. 

Sexist. 

We heard arguing and looked over at a blonde arguing with Alpha Mason. 

"Now girls. Lets not do this here." Ryker said grabbing their attention and they turned facing us.

The anger soon dulled in Mason's eyes as he turned facing us. "I thought you got Dante on board?" Mason asked. Oh he did, trust me. 

Ryker smirked. "Trust me, I did. He'll be here for the fight tomorrow. They don't need practice, trust me. Grayson and these guys here are to help your wolves prepare for the vamps that will be on the field tomorrow." Mason nodded.

The girl next to me looked at me and I quickly looked down from his stare. I could feel power radiating off her. 

"Everyone, this is Madeline... my mate." Ryker said and a laugh escaped the girl and everyone looked to her confused including me. 

"Y-you have a mate?" She managed to get out. His expression went from amused to serious. "Har har." He said waving her off.

"Lets get started shall we?" Ryker asked and Mason nodded. Everyone headed off and the girl walked towards me.

"Im Octavia." The girl said to me as we watched everyone get ready to practice. I smiled. "Madeline." I replied. Im assuming she is Mason's mate. I can smell his scent on her. 

"So... you're Ryker's mate. That's exciting." She said and I scoffed. "He's a sarcastic bastard and sometimes i'd like to bust his face in but sometimes I could kiss the shit out of him. There is no in-between." I replied and she looked to me amused.

"I can relate to you on a spiritual level. We're going to be great friends." She said causing me to let out a small chuckle.

"I need to go practice." I said with a sigh. "Me too."

"So Mason, who are you sparring with?" Ryker asked.

"Octavia." Mason said pulling his shirt over his head.

"What?" Ryker asked quite confused.

"You'll see in a few." Mason smirked and walked to where she stood but kept a distance of a few feet. "You ready?" He asked and she nodded. I looked at the two confused. 

"As ill ever be. Be ready to get your ass handed to you." She replied and the guys 'oooohhhh'd causing her to laugh.

"Jackson!" Mason yelled and we all looked to Jackson who sat under a tree a few feet away. 

"έρχονται προς τα εμπρός." (Come forward) He said not looking up from his papers and we watched as both their features began to change and my mouth dropped at what stood in their places seconds later. 

"Well shit." Ryker said with wide eyes. 

"Took the words right out of my mouth." I mumbled and watched as the two charged at each other. 

'They're Lycans?' I mind linked to Ryker. 

'Apparently so... but his lycan marked hers, they can't harm one another now. It's Lycan law. It's basically a sin to go against it.' The way they fought was incredible. 

'Wow.' I replied and he looked to me nodding. 

I felt so... bland. 

Christian's mate was some badass hybrid and she was a Lycan and then there is me a royal whose best thing to do it eat macaroons. 

"I could really use a macaroon." I said to myself as I looked over the field feeling out of place. 

This is going to be a long day.

Sorry this took so long to update I honestly forgot to publish it and thought I did LMAO

there has been confusion. 

I AM STILL UPDATING THE WAR BOND AND JACKSON'S BOOK it will just take longer. It's Radish rules that after I publish a chapter on there I have to wait until the chapter becomes free on there and publish 28 days on here after :(

This book probably feels sucky right now, but I promise it's going somewhere. We're just on chap 14 ;)
