In the morning I got picked up by the travel agency. We went up to the mountains where the horses where. There I met Maria,a woman I immediately got along very well with and we started talking. I told her I was there to rest and to process all the bad things I had supressed in my life. And perhaps write a book at the same time?
" Sounds like great idea!" It's important to process what you have been through, otherwise it will always be there and you don't know why you react the way you do. If you know it's easier to deal with it and make plans for how to think. Our thoughts affects our emotions. Our emotions affects our reactions. You can choose what to think."
" Well, that is kind of what I'm hoping for, and to learn from my mistakes. "
They gave us our horses and I got a very nice arab mix. We mounted our horses and our luggage was sent by car to the village we were going to spend the night. After a couple of hours of steep climbing and riding we finally reached the top of the mountains. We set of for a marvellous gallop on the flat ridge with spectacular view all over the capital. It was wonderful to be able to ride again and at the same time experience nature and another culture. After the gallop we proceeded our descend and Maria and I continued our talk. I told her how amazing it was to dance and to feel that you became a part of a big family within the dance community.
I remembered one of the best days of my life on the sail salsa week in the archipelago. It was the day for the big party with the theme for the week, Woodstock. During the day we were supposed to prepare and set up everything. I had had a decent night's sleep in the sailing boat and went together with Hans up to the kitchen and got some breakfast. We sat down on the port with our coffee cups and sandwiches together with all the others. We were almost fifty people there, and half of them were on the port. The scent of the sea together with a gentle breeze, and the sun in your face to the sound of seagulls and lapping of the waves was sweet memories to me. It felt like being in the famous beer commercial by Pripps Blue with the clear blue sky and dark blue sea glittering in the sun.
- Listen up folks! Gathering at the kitchen! Shouted Annelie who was one of the organizers. We all went up.
- Tonight is our big theme night and Woodstock-party. So we have a lot to do. You have been assigned to different groups with different tasks. You have also got a song to perform in front of the others. Instructions are here, so come and get it!
At my delight I was in the same group as Hans. We put some 70's touch in the dancing "room " that already was nice with lots of hanging lights. Then we started practising our song, "Oye Como va " by Santana. I was a background singer along with Beatrice. I laughed until I cried even when we practised. "Santana" was a champion of Air guitar. We also made him a nice cardboard guitar.
-It's time for lunch soon. Would you like to come sailing with me and have picnic on an island? Hans asked .
- I'd love to. But I can't sail.
- We'll take a small boat and I'll teach you! He answered.
- Alright! I'll just get my bikini and sunglasses then! I answered.
We got our lunch bags, life wests and got into the boat. Hans set the sail and showed me what to do with all the ropes. Quickly we got out to the open sea where it was a very frisk wind.
- Wow! We are going very fast! I shouted with the ocean splashing in my face hanging outside the gunwale.
- It't time for a jibe! You must be prepared to duck because the boom will quickly switch to the other side of the boat. You can bring in some sail. It's quite strong wind and we can flip over if we are unlucky!
