Ok so this whole chapter may be triggering. It's focusing around what happened to Tyler in the last chapter. So if even talking about it bothers you then just skip to the end, I'll give a short summary of the chapter.
Tyler's eyes fluttered open, immediately squeezing them shut as the sun rays caused a pain to shoot through his head. He tried siting up, but that also caused a pain to shoot through his head.
A blanket was pulled up to his shoulders and he finally opened his eyes. He squinted them, shielding most of he sunlight. Tyler looked around, realizing he wasn't in his room. He reached up to feel his head, but instead felt a wet rag. Tyler panicked slightly, not knowing where he was.
He couldn't remember anything after being kicked out of the house. The door opened and Tyler slowly let his gaze fall on Brendon. Brendon let out a sigh and rushed over to Tyler. He held a pill in one hand and a cup of water in the other.
He knelt down so he was level with Tyler, "oh god, I was scared you weren't going to wake up."
Tyler gulped, "w-where...where am I?"
Brendon smiled sadly, "my apartment. I should've brought you to the hospital, but I just freaked and my first instinct was to come here." Tyler winced as he sat up, he felt stiff where his shoulder blades were. Brendon helped him sit up, "careful. Here, take this."
Tyler shakily took the pill and cup of water. He swallowed the pill with the water in a swift motion before taking another drink. Tyler set the water down before looking at Brendon with wide eyes, "what happened, why am I here?"
Brendon tried to smile, but couldn't. He frowned deeply and his eyes began to water, "y-you called me, remember? You said that someone was following you." Tyler stared at Brendon blankly and Brendon continued, "w-we were going to meet at he police station, but you never showed. I-I started heading towards fourth avenue when I saw you in one of the alleyways. Y-you were-"
Brendon cut himself off with a sob, "I-I thought I was too late...I thought-"
Brendon couldn't finish, not being able to get the words out of his mouth. Tyler looked at his hands, the memories coming back like a stab in the stomach. Tyler looked at Brendon, his own tears starting to fall, "j-Jacoby, h-he followed me."
The two were both crying, hugging each other tightly. There was a knock from downstairs and Brendon pulled away from Tyler, "that's probably josh." Tyler let out a hiccup from trying to catch his breath. He hasn't cried this hard since forever and it felt like his lungs were drowning.
He wiped his cheeks, but it didn't do any good because new tears took the old ones place. "J-josh?"
Brendon nodded standing up, "this morning I told him what happened. He said you tried calling him and you weren't answering any of his calls or texts."
Tyler nodded and Brendon walked out of the room. Tyler pulled his knees against his chest, his body beginning to shake at the memories. It took him so much to get over what happened to him when he was younger- he still wasn't fully recovered- and now he was back to square one. Tyler listened as frantic steps came up the stairs and josh came rushing in.
He slowly approached Tyler, who was staring at him with fearful eyes. Josh sat on the bed next to Tyler and reached for Tyler's hand. Tyler flinched away, looking at the floor. Josh held back his tears at how scared Tyler looked, "t-Tyler?" Tyler's looked back at josh, his eyes still wide. Josh scooted closer, "Tyler, please talk to me."
Tyler's lip began to quiver and he spoke in a whisper, "It was Jacoby."
Josh covered his mouth to stifle his cry and pulled Tyler into a hug. Tyler clutched onto Josh's shirt, burying his face in it. Josh cradled him back and forth, "I'm so sorry. I-I promised that I wouldn't let him ever touch you and I broke that."
Tyler let out a sob, cupping Josh's face, "it's n-not your fault."
Josh ran a hand through Tyler's hair, the other one grabbing Tyler's arm, "b-but I could've stopped it if- if I only answered your call."
Tyler shook his head, "no, d-don't do that."
Josh placed his forehead against Tyler's, "I l-love you so much."
Tyler closed his eyes, moving his hands from Josh's cheeks to Josh's neck, "I love you too."
Tyler opened his eyes, only to close them again, sleep overtaking him again. Josh laid him down and pulled the blanket up over him. Josh carefully swiped his thumb across the cut on Tyler's forehead before following Brendon out of the room. They walked downstairs in silence and sat on the couch.
Josh closed his eyes, praying that he wouldn't start crying again, "I can't even keep my promises."
Brendon frowned, "don't put that on yourself, josh. It's no ones fault except for this Jacoby guy."
Josh opened his eyes, his face turning red from anger, "Jacoby ruined Tyler."
The two fell into another silence. Josh played with a lose thread of his shirt. He jumped slightly when Brendon spoke again, "who even is this Jacoby person?"
Josh gulped, "a monster who hurt Tyler for a long time."
Brendon's eyes widened, "you mean..." Brendon didn't need to finish, because of what he saw last night, he knew exactly what josh meant. "For how long?" Brendon breathed out, scared to hear the answer.
Josh looked at Brendon, "started when he was twelve all the way till he was fifteen."
Brendon took in a deep breath, "who else knows?"
Josh shook his head, "just us two."
Brendon nodded and clenched his jaw, "fucking bastard. I hope he rots in hell."
Josh let out a huff of agreement. Josh sighed as his phone began to ring and he answered it, "hello?"
"Hi, josh. Do you happen to know where Tyler is? I-I tried calling him countless times but he won't answer."
Josh could hear Kelly's worried voice through the phone. Josh smiled, "ya, Brendon and I have him at Brendon's apartment. He's asleep right now, but we'll bring him home later today."
Kelly sighed, "oh thank goodness. I shouldn't have kicked him out, I've been worried all night."
Josh turned to Brendon who mouthed the words 'should we tell her?'.
Josh shook his head and put the phone back to his ears, "don't worry, Kelly. We'll come over around twelve."
"Alright, thank you josh. Tell Brendon thank you, too, for me."
"I will, bye." Josh hung up and put his phone away, "Kelly says thank you."
Brendon furrowed his eyebrows, "why the hell shouldn't we tell her? Her son was almost...well...you know. She has a right to know."
Josh nodded, "she does, but that needs to be something Tyler tells her."
So basicallyyy, Tyler walked up in Brendon's apartment and josh comes over. Josh comforts Tyler and then he later tells Brendon who Jacoby is. Kelly calls and josh decides Tyler should be the one to tell her.
That's basically what happened if you didn't read the chapter. Sorry I updated so late. Hope you have a nice night/day!! Byeeee.
