Tyler walked down the hallway, making his way to lunch. He spotted josh down the hall and smiled. Josh smiled back and started making his way towards Tyler. Tyler was interrupted, though, by Jon stepping in front of him. Jon grinned, "hey, Tyler."
Tyler smiled politely, "hey, Jon."
Tyler was about to walk away, but Jon gripped his hips, "what do you say I come over tonight?"
Tyler let out a shaky breath. He's going to get better. "I'm sorry, Jon. Not tonight."
Jon frowned, "then what about tomorrow?"
Tyler let out a huff, "I said no, Jon. Excuse me."
Jon grabbed Tyler's hand, eyebrows furrowed, "what's with you? Why can't I come over?"
Tyler tried to get out of his grip, "because I don't want you to."
Jon smirked and pulled Tyler closer, "do you think I can change your mind? C'mon, Tyler, I'll come over after school."
Tyler snapped, getting the attention of quite a few students, "I said no!"
Jon let go of Tyler's hand out of shock. Tyler's breathing picked up and he clenched his fist. Josh ran up to Tyler and gently grabbed Tyler's wrist, "Tyler, it's ok, just breath. Ok?"
Tyler nodded, focusing on Josh's hands that were wrapped around his wrist. Tyler closed his eyes and let out a deep breath, "I'm fine..I'm-I'm fine."
Josh began leading Tyler to the cafeteria. Josh raised an eyebrow, "are you ok? Did he do anything?"
Tyler couldn't help but smile at how protective josh was being, "I'm fine. He didn't do anything, I promise." Josh nodded and they sat down at the table.
Ryan grinned, "hey, guys."
Bea came and sat down, "did I miss anything?"
Josh shook his head, "nope, we just got here."
Bea smiled, "good."
Everyone turned their heads as Melanie came up and sat at the table. Josh grinned, "hey, Mel."
Melanie smiled back, "hey, josh, Ryan, Bea."
Tyler rolled his eyes, "don't you usually sit at another table?"
Melanie glared, "they're my friends too. So back off."
Typer scoffed, but didn't say anything. Josh glanced between the two and turned to Ryan. Ryan just shrugged his shoulders. Josh smiled, trying to break the tension, "I like your hair, Melanie. The blue looks pretty."
Melanie smiled, "thank you, I'm glad you like it."
The lunch was mostly quite and a little awkward. The bell rang and josh walked towards Melanie."Hey, Mel?"
Melanie turned around and smiled, "yes?"
Josh looked back to see where Ryan and Tyler were talking, "what exactly did happened with you and Tyler?"
Melanie rolled her eyes, "He's an asshole who gets into a whole bunch of shit for no reason."
Josh raised an eyebrow, "no reason?"
Melanie scoffed, "I don't know, maybe he's trying to act cool or something, but I don't like it. So a while ago I called him out on all of it and freaked on me."
Josh frowned, "Melanie, he doesn't do any of this just to impress anyone or just to do it."
Melanie's eyebrows furrowed, "how do you know?"
Josh smiled sadly, "because I talked to him about it. He didn't ever mean to hurt you, Melanie. What he does is his ways of coping with his depression."
Melanie frowned, "how come he never came to talk to me about it? I would've helped him?"
Josh chuckled, "ya, but Tyler has walls, and he doesn't really let anyone in. He doesn't want any help. But I'm trying to work with him, I'm trying to get him to open up."
Melanie nodded and looked down, "I feel like shit now."
Josh shook his head, "don't, I understand where you would be mad with him. I know that he also said some things he shouldn't have, you both were in the wrong."
Melanie smiled sadly, "thanks, josh, for telling me."
Josh smiled back, "no problem."

Melanie walked up Tyler's driveway and knocked on the door. She tapped her foot anxiously as she waited for someone to answer. Kelly answered the door and raised her eyebrows. "Oh, Melanie, I didn't know you were coming over? We haven't seen you in a while."
Melanie smiled, "Is Tyler home?"
Kelly nodded, "yes he is, Tyler's in his room. You can just go one up."
Melanie walked in and nodded, "thank you."
She walked up he stairs and over to Tyler's room. The door was closed and she knocked lightly on it. "Who is it?"
Melanie bit her lip and took a deep breath, "can I come in, please?"
Melanie didn't hear an answer, but there was the sound of shuffling. The door swung open and Tyler stared at Melanie with confusion, "what are you doing here?"
Melanie looked at her feet, "I'm sorry, Tyler, for calling you out the way I did. I...I didn't know why you were acting the way you did and I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions."
Tyler stared at her for a moment before moving to the side to let her in. She smiled weakly and walked into his room. Tyler sat on the bed and sat criss cross. Melanie sat next to him. He gulped, "I was an asshole."
Melanie nodded, "you were, but I was one too." The two let out a small laugh. Melanie frowned, "I missed you. I missed being your friend."
Tyler nodded, "me too."
Melanie wrapped her arms around Tyler's waste and rested her head on his chest, "can...can we be friends again?"
Tyler smiled and hugged Melanie back, "of course, And I swear...I'm trying to get better."
Melanie squeezed tighter, "I know you can do it. I believe in you, Tyler." Melanie sat up straight and kissed Tyler's cheek, "I'll see you at school Monday."
Melanie stood up and smoothed out her skirt, "I'm glad we got to talk...you know, without insulting each other."
Tyler let out a laugh and Melanie smiled. He nodded, "ya, see you later, Melanie."
Melanie made her way to the door, waving one last time before leaving the room. Tyler smiled to himself. He got his friend back.
