"He turned to face you watching you until you fell asleep. Making sure that you wouldn't slip through his fingers like everyone else."

Your POV
You woke up in a cold sweat, breathing heavily. 'Nightmares' you thought to yourself as you looked over to your left to see a peaceful captain with his arm drapped around your waist. You felt your face grow hot as you thought about last night. Was it real? Or was it just comfort for the grief? You didn't really know, it felt real for you but was it the same for Levi?
You looked over to your window. 'Still dark...must be early morning or late evening'. You look over at Levi again looking at his face. You've never seen him so peaceful. You tucked away some hair that had fallen, your hand lingering in his cheek. 'So soft' you thought as you carefully stroked his tear stained cheek. You sighed as you moved your hand away and began to carefully remove his arm from your waist, even though you didn't want to. You slowly sat up in slight pain from the expedition hours before. You looked out of the window having a sudden urge to star gaze. You watched Levi as you slowly began to climb over him so you could go to the window. You felt him move underneath you causing you to stop moving and breathing. You heard him mumble as he got himself comfortable again. You waited a few seconds before moving again. Your feet made a quite pating sounds as you tiptoed to the window. Once you got there you opened the window and placed your hands on the window shelf so you could lean forward, your (e/c) reflecting the beautiful night sky. Before long you heard a whisper causing you to look behind you, but all you saw was a peaceful Levi. 'Maybe I'm just imagining things' you thought to youself as you placed your gaze back to the sky. You heard the whisper again, clearer this time, it sounded like someone calling your name? This time you listened closely and looked out for the source of the whisper. That's when you saw it, four silhouettes standing in a row. It looked like they were in the solider uniforms, with capes on an- your eyes widen as you realise who it was...Eld...Petra...Gunther...Oruo. You opened the window more as you rushed out, jumping down. Luckily you were on a lower floor. As soon as you landed you ran over to them. "ELD! PETRA!" You breath heavily as your bare feet hit the cold grass."GUNTHER! *pant pant* ORUO! WAIT!" You yelled out as you try and get them to stop moving and they slowly did. Once you got there they were still facing their backs towards you. You hunched yourself over trying to catch your breath, you had only just woken up so you were still half asleep causing you to tier out quicker. "Y-You're okay?! B-but I s-saw you d-" Before you could finish Gunther spoke up, still not facing you. "You did this.." You looked confused. "Wha-" Petra spoke. "How could you I thought we were like sisters.." You gasped slightly. "What do you mean, we are sisters." Ouro spoke up. "We trusted you.." "I-I-I don't get it what do yo-" "I loved you.." Eld spoke out. Before you could question again they all suddenly turn around causing you to scream and fall back in horror. Their hoods had fallen down and what you saw was horrifying....they had the face of when they died. Blood was all over them their faces, bodies and uniforms. They began to melt as they spoke "You did this to us. We'll never forgive you. You betrayed us. We hate you." You started screaming as you covered your face with your hands. "NO IM SORRY...NO PLE-" Your screams were cut off my arms wraping around you. The feeling felt so familiar, almost like your..."M-Mother?" You slowly open your eyes to find that your former squad had gone...you looked down to see soft arms hugging your waist. You slowly turn around. "Mum...i-is that you.." You asked in a shaking voice as you looked at her unsure of what was real anymore, she smiled sweetly. You heart swelled with love and grief as you rushed back into her arms. "Where were you sweetie?" She questioned. You slowly moved back in confusion. "W-What do you mean?" She simply smiled again, but this time there was something not quite right about it, her smile seemed...dead. "You failed them." She said as blood started to drip from her mouth. "M-M-" "YOU FAILED ME!!" You freaked out and curled up in a ball trembling with fear as you apologised over and over and over again.
Levi POV (whaaaaaa)
(Back to when you just jumped out the window)
I slowly open my eyes realising the warmth and security was gone 'Where the hell is she.' I thought to myself. I sat up with my legs hanging over the edge. 'Why's the window op-' my thoughts were cut off by a scream, not just any scream (Y/n)'s scream. "Shit." I said out loud as I rushed over to the window. Looking down I judged how far down it was 'I can jump that'. I thought as I jumped out and began running to the screams as soon as my feet hit the floor. Once I got there I saw her...(Y/n)...she was curled up in a ball, trembling, I couldn't even see her face. She was rocking herself while saying 'sorry, I'm sorry, I'm so, so sorry' over and over again 'What the hell happend to her'. I bent down and put a hand on her shoulder "(Y/n)?" I said softly so as not to scare her...which didn't help she jumped slightly and looked at me. That looked...I've never seen her this way, she looked traumatized. As soon as she saw me she jumped back and started crying hysterically. "No! No! I'm sorry!" She shouted as she trembled. My eyes widen 'what the hell is going on' "Hey...(Y/n)? It's alrig-" "NO!" She cut me off "It's not alright...its not...ITS MY FAULT THEY'RE DEAD! THEY'RE NEVER COMING BACK AGAIN AND IT'S ALL MY FAULT!!!" She started hyperventilating. "They...they're....I'm so-sorry....please just..." Before she could finished I grabbed her in a hug. I stroked her hair just like she likes it. "shhhh" I whispered in her ear. "It's not your fault, I promise. You don't have to be afraid, I'm here, I'm not leaving you." I kept whispering in her ear, even though it felt weird and confusing I still wanted to comfort her. I have to protect her, no matter what. She's more then just a squad member, more then a friend, I love her and I cant let her go. "L-Levi..." I snapped out of my thoughts and looked down at her, I felt a tear fall down my cheek 'I'm crying?'. She lifted a small (s/c) hand and wiped it away while stroking my cheek in a comforting way, she look at me with her (e/s), (e/c) eyes I felt something when I looked at her. "What happened?" I ask trying to speak as softly as I could. "I saw them. Levi I saw them." I didn't have to ask I knew exactly who she was talking about. "They hate me Levi...they hate me." She stared sobbing again. "Hey hey hey, they don't hate you, I promise, it wasn't real." She took in a shaky breath. "B-but it felt so real I-I just..." I put my hand on her chin to lift her face to look at me. I look at her lovingly, she looked at me despiratly. "P-please don't leave me Levi...please." She said in a shaky voice as she leant her forehead onto mine. I followed. "As long as you promise to stay with me." I felt her nod. I closed my eyes as a wave of security washed over me, I took in a deep breath. "Come on...it's getting cold." She simply nodded as I stood up. I put out a hand to help her up which she took, but as soon as she tried to take a step her legs gave way. Luckily my quick reflexes grabbed her before she could hit the ground. "S-sorry I..umm" she looked away slightly embarrassed. "'tch' Come on." I said as I picked her up bridal style....bride....'moving on' I thought to my self shooing that thought away.

Still Levi POV
I had to walk through the HQ....luckily most where asleep so no-one saw us...hopefully. I sat her on her bed before lying down on my back. She look at me with slight confusion before I patted my chest as a way of saying 'lay down here'. Her eyes went wide for a minute, causing me to slightly regret my request. But soon she slowly made her way to me and slowly layed her head on my chest, she could probably feel my heart pounding. I've never done this with anyone or felt this way about anyone before. I grabbed her blanket and placed it over us before I started rubbing her back to lull me and her to sleep.

I felt her soft breathing in my neck causing me to feel more relaxed then ever before. 'What is she doing to me' I thought with a smile as I soon drifted to sleep.
