The wedding was beautiful. The bride and groom glowed with love and happiness. The reception was just as grand. There was plenty of food to eat and people to talk to.
Chivalry was on the verge of a splitting headache. She felt like she had met a million people and, just as she feared, Holland introduced her to everyone as his wife.
When they got home Chivalry was thankful for the silence. It was not to last though. Holland appeared to be in a mood to talk.
"Wasn't the wedding wonderful?"
"It was very romantic. May I ask you a few questions?"
"Sure. What's on your mind?"
"When you introduced me as your wife everyone looked very surprised. Why? And why did you have to introduce me at all? If I'm our wife wouldn't your friends already know that we are married?"
Holland was stumped. He knew Chivalry would ask questions before she started to believe him. He just didn't expect them to be so clever.
"Well you were in a coma for two months and the first two years of our marriage were spent traveling. You have met them, but after over two years of not seeing them they may have forgot that we are married."
"I suppose."
"Are you starting to believe me?"
He had hope written all over his face. She hated to hurt him but he deserved the truth. "I don't know. You say we are married yet my heart yearns for Daton. I just don't know."
"I have an idea. Lets renew our vows. Nothing big. Just a small wedding and a long honeymoon. Maybe we can visit some of the places we went on our first honeymoon. It might jog your memory."
Chivalry didn't know what to say. If she wasn't married to Holland then he was tricking her into marriage. If she was married to him then maybe it would spark a memory.
"Was that too much?"
"It's just....I don't even know you and ou want me to go on a honeymoon with you."
"Well you are my wife and we haven't been together for over two months. Since you've been home I've been trying to go slow but to tell you the truth it has been very hard."
Holland looked into Chivalry's frightened eyes. "You look pale. Why don't you call it a night?"
"My head does hurt but I have one more question. If we are married why don't we wear wedding rings?"
Why hadn't he thought of that? What was he going to say? He thought fast. "I completely forgot. When we went to the hospital two months ago the doctor wanted your ring off. I took them to the cleaners then put them in my desk at the office. I will go get them first thing tomorrow."
Chivalry nodded her head. She had wanted to know the answer but now she wished she had kept her mouth shut. He was going to give her a ring tomorrow and expect her to wear it.
"Come on dear. Lets get you to bed before you fall asleep on your feet."
When Chivalry was under the covers Holland grabbed her hand. "I love you."
Chivalry's eyes grew round and her mouth parted with shock. She looked so adorable. All Holland wanted to do was kiss her.
"Thank you Holland. I hope you don't mind if I don't say it back."
"That's fine for now."
"You aren't mad?"
"No. I do love you and in time I believe you will believe that and love me too."
"Goodnight Holland."
"Sweet dreams Chivalry."
When Holland shut the door to Chivalry's room he went to find Hayllen. "Watch Chivalry. I will be back later."
With that said he jumped into his car and sped all the way to the store. He had some rings to buy.
